Three months with Apple Watch convinces me it’s the best Apple product I’ve ever purchased

“I bought mine right when it was released, see my full review, and after three months I am confident in stating it is the best smartwatch I have ever tried,” Matthew Miller writes for ZDNet. “I’ve tried different Pebble watches, various Android Wear devices, Samsung devices, and even go back to the days of the Palm OS and MSN Direct SPOT watches. No other smartwatch has satisfied me as much as the Apple Watch.”

“Despite what you may read from those who don’t own an Apple Watch, the battery life is excellent. Over the last three months, my experience is that I can go from 4:30 am to 10:30 pm and still have 40 percent battery left on most days,” Miller writes. “Running with the Apple Watch for an hour only consumes about 10 percent, even when used to stream music and track my runs.”

“I use a dedicated GPS watch to track the details of my running, but have the Apple Watch on my other wrist to stream music, measure my heart rate, and as a check of my run data,” Miller writes. “I am constantly amazed by the accuracy of the Apple Workout app that gathers my data without GPS and regular matches my GPS data within less than 10 percent difference. Casual runners could easily leave the iPhone behind and be satisfied with the data captured just by the Apple Watch.”

  1. These facts fall on deaf ears. My experience with the Apple Watch mirror yours, but try as I might, the naysayers simply don’t care about, or want to hear the truth. So I simply stopped trying, confident that in the near future they’ll all find be wearing a like device in spite of their current denials.

    1. Not really had that with the Apple Watch yet. But that is the common phrase I’ve heard about the iPhone and Mac. I used to argue all the time about the Mac being better than a PC. Same with the iPhone being too expensive.
In the end the best response I use now is it just works. If someone wants to tinker with their PC or phone they can go ahead. I have better things to do than worry about getting my device working.
The Apple watch has really helped me with my exercise. More steps, more running and more gym work. That is the main impact for me at this moment in time but once Apple Pay becomes more ubiquitous then that will be more useful.

      1. I can’t see the mirror right now; yo momma is blocking it with her gigantic ass.

If you think his saying it is the best Apple product he has ever purchased is an honest and serious statement, then you are a clown. The author is clearly engaging in hyperbole, aka clickwhoring. Now go get that crane and help yo momma stand up.

    1. Apple Watch, the best and most understood product ever. The Apple Watch is so great that simple words cannot explain its digital capabilities. The Apple Watch defies language; it can only be appreciated as a metaphysical experience. Those who have not had this epiphany are cursed and damned from experiencing Apple Watch’s digital devineness every conscious moment of every day.

    1. Why is it so difficult to accept the writer’s personal opinion? He didn’t say it was the BEST PRODUCT EVAH. He didn’t even say it was THE BEST APPLE PRODUCT. He said it was the best Apple product FOR HIM.

What has the world come to that one person’s opinion is now “clickwhoring”?

  2. My battery life has been comparable to what is stated in this article. I’m usually down to 40-50% by the end of the day, and I start wearing my Apple Watch at about 430 in the morning. I do an hour long workout every morning using the workout app. There are a lot of reviews that state the TRUE battery life of Apple Watch, but I guess a lot of naysayers choose instead to believe the made up information about the Watch’s battery life.

    1. I haven’t had any issues with battery life (although the Watch definitely drains my iPhone faster), but I don’t use any non-native apps. I am guessing if you used some of those apps, woke up/used the thing every five seconds you would start to run out of juice. But my own experience is that the Watch’s battery life is a non-issue.

  3. I wonder if folks would share about which size apple watch they have along with battery life. My 38mm is often near empty at the end of the day, but my 42mm friends never seem to have that happen.
