  1. The hatred the far right has for the left, and the stunning disdain and fear the far left has for the right is what is ruining american politics. The sad thing is that neither side will even closely approach admiting their phobias they’ve been spoon fed to believe about the other side.

As I count it there are a lot more people who are left on this site that there are on the right. Sadly, there are very few who want to do anything but scream.

Good for MDN, generating hit revenue. Bad for the USA.

MDN word is GIVE, as in give each other a break and try to dialog instead of flame. Geez… this is as bad as talking about the french.

  2. Repbulicans suck, Democrats suck. Vote…um…vote….er…vote……..for me, yeah that’s it.
    I stand (up)
    I support (walls)
And I love everyone (that I don’t hate).
Chilll people….everyone leans one way or another from the political center. Both ideologies have some merit. But the thing they share is a love of freedom.
And most importantly, people from both use Macs!

  3. Love is for pussy liberals?

Killing is for real men. Well, when all the real men have killed themselves let me know so I can help rebuild what’s left.

Karen, please take the time to know your opponent and spell their name right so they take you seriously.

If another nation attacked mine I would fight to the death. That was my point. I would expect nothing less than anyone else. Vietnam was our making, not a threat to us. Hitler and WWII Japan were direct threats. We fought to the death and any American who refused should have been denaturalized. That means they would no longer be a citizen.

I saw a reason to go after Osama bin Laden. I agreed with the decision to attack the Taliban. It’s too bad that an oil pipeline across that country was a motivation for that war, but those people needed to be liberated.

Afghanistan was a diverse country of Muslims, Christians, and Buddhists in the cradle of civilization. There is still a very rich history buried in the sands that has been forgotten. The Taliban destroyed that history further and took freedoms and tried to change how people thought. It was our right to destroy them and give what was left to the people there. our job is not yet done. The war rages there as well, but as Donald Rumsfeld said, there aren’t any hard targets in Afghanistan so it’s not much in the news.

Iraq was a terrible mistake. I was behind the moral argument though in the beginning, but Bush forced the war. Why? What was the big hurry? Iraq was terrorist-free. Iraq couldn’t hurt us. Sadam was contained. Millions weren’t dying.

To those how make the Hitler argument: Our war in Iraq is NOTHING like the motivation to fight WWII. There are a thousand little Hitlers in Africa. If you want to fight genocide, look there.

In response to the “F off all you … libs”, well you agree that we care a great deal about our civilization. You and me. You think your way and I’ll think mine, but if a REAL threat attacks me and my country I will be right beside you (even Karen) killing them all.

  4. You people who are bemoaning the tenor of the dialog here need to take things a little less seriously. Sure, such banal rhetoric disabuses no one of their predilections, but it can be loads of fun. As long as no one takes themselves too seriously.

Well, no one with any sense and maturity. The toddlers will always throw their tantrums.

  5. Does it work for big business while pretending to support the Christian right? Does it lie for big oil and get Americans killed in the process?

Whatever it does, ANYTHING that helps the wealthy is a good cause! We all know they live in hard times!

  6. After thousands of lives lost, tens of thousands wounded, millions (in Iraq) still living without basic infrastructure or security, strained relations with half of the world, civil liberties trampled and at least a half-trillion dollars spent there remains one question:

    Where is OBL?

  7. Time for a history lesson:

In 1776 Liberals fought the British monarchy for independence and freedom of the American people. Conservatives, on the other hand, sided with the monarchy, which was fighting a war of wealth acquisition.

Ironically, at the epicenter of each conflict lies a dynasty of inbreds named George.

    King George

    Here’s another
Top Ten Reasons The Republicans are giving out iPods:

Per our President, “the iPod is a result of government research into microdrive technology.”

[actually, IBM invented the microdrive, couldn’t find any buyers, sold it to Hitachi, then Apple came up with an idea.]

  9. Hey, MU47 — the “liberation” of two repressed countries would be great ‘n’ all, if:

    1) it were actually true, and 2) if that was the actual reason given for war.

Afghanistan isn’t free. It basically consists of the city-state of Kabul, which is run by a former UNOCAL executive. The rest of the country is run by heroin warlords and the Taliban (remember them?).

Remember, your fearless President attacked Iraq (taking his eye off the ball in Afghanistan) because Iraq had WMDs and was connected to 9/11. Neither of which turned out to be true. He talked of mushroom clouds and biological attacks, scaring retarded sheep like you into voting for him in ’04.

Oh, and by the way, mr. “Conservative,” is nation-building and playing policeman to the world now one of the planks of your political platform? Okay, then, Mr. “Conservative” — who’s next? Iran? North Korea? Zimbabwe? Turkmenistan? Who’s going to pay for it? You? Who’s going to die for it? You?

    I didn’t think so. Jerkoff.
