So, you want you very own Special Republican Edition Apple iPod? Here’s how:
1. Create Your Party: First – set up your May 22 GOP House Party today.* When you create your party, you’ll also be able to set up your MyGOP site with grassroots goals tied to the party – whether it’s grassroots fundraising for a Republican victory in November, recruiting volunteers, or registering new voters.
2. Fundraise for MyGOP: As a special thank you, the hosts of the five MyGOP house parties that raise the most money for the Republican Party through MyGOP from 10 or more friends will receive a Special Republican Edition iPod (video-capable).
3. There really is no step three: The top five money-raising MyGOP house parties receive Special Republican Edition iPods.
* A GOP House Party is a grassroots tool that brings together people who support the President and the Republican ticket.

And the best perk of all:
The special republican iPods come with all phone conversations from the past 5 years by anyone and everyone in the United States! WOW!!!
For an extra added charge, I bet you can get everyone’s medical records, too!
God bless GWB. And if you blast my message, please answer me one question: Do you think he’s intelligent?
Little brother, the word lament cancels out the need to even consider the word oxymoron, which is why I didn’t rag on you about it. After all, an oxymoron applies to figures of speech, not any delivery of a self-contradictory idea.
It’s okay, though. I realize you have such trouble because of all those times I dropped you on your head that one day.
I told mom she should’ve aborted you.
We are at war with Eurasia. We have always been at war with Eurasia.
“I suppose you think Hitler was victimized by the US too”
History day today at MDN:
Far from being victimized, Hitler was helped by Prescott Bush who architected finacial support for the Nazi party.
This had nothing to do with ideology though. Then, as now, the Bush family was practical: they (like many conservatives) thought Hitler would win the war, and wanted to be sure that they were on the winning side.
Starter link below, but if you really wish to steep yourself in the sordid history of the Bush Family, their links to the Nazis, and systematic manuipulation of US intelligence, go Googling. It’s all there.
How Bush’s grandfather helped Hitler’s rise to power
I’m a Repub and think the following-
Pro- Legalize Pot
Pro- Choice
Mod- Enviro (where it makes sense)
Anti- Illegal immigrant
Pro- Capitalism (it’s human nature)
Anti- Religious Right
Could give a crap about- Gay marriage
Pro- Stem cell research & utilization
Pro- Freaky sex!
Most of my Repub & Demo pals think the same way (maybe not the phreeky sex part).
So let’s not be so broad in our brush strokes
Oh yeah- for all those conspiracy theorists out there, the Gov (any branch) is too stupid to do anything covert and keep it quiet. One only need to look as far as their nearest DMV office (State agency but, it scales).
Strategery-
IBM didn’t sell the Micro drive to Hitachi, they sold their whole Drive division to Hitachi.
There was a market for the micro drive but it didn’t explode until the ipod.
So is MDN trying to drive away 70% of their readership?
Magic word: coming. I feel a little throw-up coming.
I’m surprised they needed a special edition iPod for the GOP.
Doesn’t it already come in WHITE?
Bad move MDN… Just keep politics out of here please. Even though it might not have been meant as one, this story really looks like nothing short of a blatant GOP ad, with the instructions and all. It would have been a different thing to just tell about the fact that you can actually get a special edition Republican iPod.
And I would have said this even if it were the Democrats offering iPods.
“I’m surprised they needed a special edition iPod for the GOP.
Doesn’t it already come in WHITE?”
Now THAT’S Funny!
“Oh yeah- for all those conspiracy theorists out there, the Gov (any branch) is too stupid to do anything covert and keep it quiet. One only need to look as far as their nearest DMV office (State agency but, it scales).”
Steev… piece of advice, read the article or smoke your pot. In either case resist the urge to comment on what you don’t understand.
“Katrina, Harriet Myers, The Dubai Port Deal, skyrocketing gas prices, shrinking wages for working people, staggering debt, astronomical foreign debt, outsourcing, open borders, contempt for the opinion of the American people, the war on science, media manipulation, faith based initives, a cavalier attitude toward fundamental freedoms– this President has run the most arrogant and out-of-touch administration in my lifetime, perhaps, in any American’s lifetime.
You can make a case that Abraham Lincoln did what he had to do, the public be damned. If you roll the dice on your gut and you’re right, history remembers you well. But, when your gut led you from one business failure to another, when your gut told you to trade Sammy Sosa to the Cubs, and you use the same gut to send our sons and daughters to fight and die in a distraction from the real war on terror, then history will and should be unapologetic in its condemnation.
None of this, by the way, should be interpreted as an endorsement of the opposition party. The Democrats are equally bankrupt. This is the second crime of our age. Again, historically speaking, its times like these when America needs a vibrant opposition to check the power of a run-amuck majority party. It requires it. It doesn’t work without one. Like the high and low tides keep the oceans alive, a healthy, positive opposition offers a path back to the center where all healthy societies live.
We’re being governed by paper-mache patriots; brightly painted red, white and blue, but hollow to the core. Both parties have mastered the cynical arts of media manipulation and fund raising. They’ve learned the lessons of Watergate and burn the tapes. They have learned to divide the nation for their own gain. They have demonstrated the willingness to exploit any tragedy for personal advantage. The contempt they have for the American people is without parallel.”
MDN Magic Word: army, ironically enough.
lol… it’s amazing how intelligence lands in the minds of the younger and not in the older.
“the word lament cancels out the need to consider the word oxymoron”?
HOWLING with laughter… you still don’t get it.
YOU ARE THE OXYMORON TOOL! Gawd…. can’t believe I had to spell it out for you. What a serious, brain dead, public school drop out tool.
You mom didn’t abort me because this whole internet relationship isn’t real, I’m not really your little brother, I’m someone laughing at you across cyberspace. Is that plain enough for you to understand?
You’re a tool.
And everyone who reads your silly little posts knows it. Except you.
smokes draino
Cloak + Dagger,
Read things more carefully-
I don’t smoke it I just want it legalized because we are spending too damn much fighting a internal war where the enemy is the casual user.
Filling up our prisons at ≈ $35K per inmate/year (Ca.) is a waste of money.
What are you talking about the UFO’s hiding in a Gov warehouse?
Once again, too much bureaucratic self interest in this country for anything to remain a secret. The people in the Gov are just like everyone else, undereducated, self absorbed folks, looking out for #1.
You mom didn’t abort me because this whole internet relationship isn’t real, I’m not really your little brother, I’m someone laughing at you across cyberspace. Is that plain enough for you to understand?
(Wow. You really are stupid.)
Thanks, little brother, for spelling out that I, the last child of my parents, do not have a younger brother. Given your clever play on comment-board names, I might’ve never figured that out.
it’s amazing how intelligence lands in the minds of the younger and not in the older.
Your level of self-delusion is quite impressive.
YOU ARE THE OXYMORON TOOL!
Ooh, let me try… LOL. HOWLING with laughter. You STILL don’t get it. YOU STILL AREN’T USING THE WORD OXYMORON CORRECTLY.
Steev
OK, extended words to bore the readers and ruin the joke. IBM invented the microdrive in 1999, sales never materialized and IBM sold the microdrive along with the whole hard drive division to Hitachi in 2002 per CNET. “In 2003 and 2004, the mini iPod and other music players made mini drives a hot commodity.”
And?
Our President still believes “the iPod is a result of government research into microdrive technology.” Oooh, Oooh “and electrochemistry and signal compression”
How about that! IBM, Hitachi, Toshiba, along with the Fraunhofer Institute, the developer of the MP3 codec, and Sony, AT&T and our favorite, Steve Jobs, are all part of government research!
And why did all these U.S. and foreign corps join together in this research. Per our President, “They did so for one reason: It turned out that those were the key ingredients for the development of the iPod.”
Thanks W!
See! That’s why the GOP can give away iPods!
I swear to god that MDN just posts these political articles so that a political war will ensue and not only make their site look really popular, but they’re probably reading all these comments and laughing their asses off.
So, if an MDN staff member is reading this right now:
Thanks. It amuses me too.
I hear people screaming ways to save America and mentioning political parties.. But it’s political parties themselves that are ruining America. I don’t blame Democrats. I don’t blame Republicans. I don’t blame anyone except for Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton.
It’s too bad we didn’t listen to Washington when he said avoid political parties. We’d actually be united.
To all your folks complaining about a political discussion on the MDN site…
I am thrilled, absolutely thrilled, that important issues have infiltrated the toy/tool sites. I want everyone everywhere to put aside their “bread and circuses” for a while, for just one thread per site, and discuss stuff that actually matters…
That being said, a RED iPod? I want one. NOW!
Steev- Given your position on issues, what makes you think you are a Republican? They’re similar to mine and I quit the Republican party when I caught on to Bush I’s give away of the country to big business and the wealthy. Then I saw the level to which they would stoop to try to gain power during the Clinton years (I’ll bet it really pisses them off to know that after everything Cliton could be elected tomorrow if it was legal). And the repeated making fools of religious conservatives by the Republican party by lying to them that their issues are Republican issues just to get the vote, then nothing ever happens. I’ll never go back.
But I think the truth about Republican politicians will come out. They will definitely capitalize the Con in CONservative. I wonder how many Republican Congressmen will be in jail by the end of Bush II’s reign?
I’m thinking there is a very red Right and a very blue Left and the rest of us are kind of purple. I’m pretty sure I’m OK with how gay that seems!
That thing looks fugly. Like a ’70s custom van painted by someone’s brother.
They should take Bush off the sample screen and just leave it blank if they want people to actually want it.
His approval rating is 29 percent–and lower than ever even among people who watch only Fox News all day (like the Vice President), specifically so as to avoid ever having to bump up against anything they might not like going on in reality.
The iPod’s approval rating, if measured, would probably be about 99 percent.
You do the math.
It is astounding, by the way, that Bush’s approval could fall so low in a period when we have an dedicated propaganda channel for him and his party (Fox), with market penetration even Pravda would envy. (Google “Fox News effect” for details.)
It just shows: you can fool some of the people all the time, but not all of them. I just hope he can be emasculated by a loss of control of Congress before he weakens us still further with another disastrous war, or more tax cut for the rich.
Republicans in Congress need to read about the history of parliamentary interactions with James I and Charles I. (A good book on this is Johann P. Sommerville, Politics and Ideology.)
Bush and his lawyers are espousing a theory of the head of state’s inherent power to “dispense with” laws that literally caused two revolutions in England during the seventeenth century, and brought about modern parliamentary democracy and the division of powers in the U.S. Constitution.
There is simply no line of constitutional argument they could make that would have made the Founders–if they could see all of this–feel more certain that everything they worked and fought for had been flushed away.
But we can’t be bothered to really pay much attention.
Anyway. Don’t get me started!
Bush not only shows “The contempt they have for the American people is without parallel.”, but for all people of modest means. The Elite have no time or love for 98% of humanity, unless it makes them richer. We are in their way, outsourcing combined with technological advancements, make the rest of us barriers in their insane drive for more weath concentration. We are merely their tools for killing ‘enemies’ or guinea pigs. Liberals need to organize, and articulate a vision of peace, freedom and prosperity for all.
Okay, a new Fox News motto just came to me!
“Fox News: We Make Pravda Look Subtle.”
Thoughts raised by watching this, which you genuinely just could not make up:
http://thinkprogress.org/2006/05/12/fox-nsa-traitor/
Holy Cow! Not even an iPod would turn me Republican. I’d take one of those Creative MP3 players over that. Maybe even one of those Nano Apple ripoffs.
29% and falling! Let us never repeat an election disaster such as ’04.
