Apple continues its strong push to highlight the Mac as the ultimate creative and productive tool, this time with a fresh video aimed squarely at students heading into or already navigating college life.

Titled “Mac Students: The journey to great ideas in college,” the video showcases how MacBooks empower students to brainstorm, problem-solve, and bring ambitious projects to life. It emphasizes the Mac’s role in turning raw ideas into reality — perfect timing amid surging demand for Apple’s latest hardware, including the MacBook Neo and high-end Mac mini/Mac Studio models driven by AI capabilities.

The ad captures real-world student scenarios: late-night study sessions, collaborative group projects, and creative workflows where the Mac’s performance, battery life, and seamless ecosystem make all the difference. It’s part of Apple’s broader “Great Ideas Start Here” campaign, which positions the Mac as the starting point for innovation, whether in education, professional work, or personal creativity.

MacDailyNews Take: This student-focused spot arrives as Apple reports record interest in its Mac lineup. With Apple Silicon powering impressive AI features and unmatched efficiency, the Mac is attracting both longtime fans and first-time switchers.

  1. so, still bad commercials. good grief!
why buy a mac? how did that answer the question?
what i took away was dark, gloom and frustration.
smart, funny, interesting, upbeat, easy to use, inspiring.
i got none of that from that commercial, and the sound track, oh boy.
hire the iranian lego group, their stuff is much more entertaining even though their content is somewhat serious in nature. that commercial was bad.

    1. Objectively speaking it’s not a bad commercial even by Apple’s recent prog standards. You’re probably 30+ years older than the demographic they’re targeting here. Good choice of music, basic message is that with the right tool (a Mac) you can figure it all out, mini story arc from frustration to satisfaction. The fact that it’s a Mac-focused commercial geared towards young people alone should have most MDN readers jumping for joy. Let’s loosen up a bit guys 🍻

      1. hmm, let me think. mmm no. why? because it does not demonstrate how buying a mac facilitated that success. it just the thing they where working on. it could have easily been a pc. what compels them, a college student, to beg their parents for the money to buy of mac. let me give you a little story. a friend’s daughter was going to college, ecu. he listen to me and bought her a macbook pro. why? because i told him it was easy to use, just works, less headaches with viruses. the first day on campus she moves into her dorm room. her roommate had the top of the line dell notebook. her roommate and parents were trying to get her online. no haps. my friend trusting my word sees the disappointment in her roommates face and looks at his daughter. starting to see she was thinking she would have the same problems. well, the story goes, he smiles at his daughter and said your “uncle B said it will just work”. so he told her to unbox it and give it a try. the other family was watching and listen of course. he called me with that very minute as he said his daughter was hugging him so hard he hard to check to make sure he still had his wallet, lol. to this day he says he doesn’t know why he feels so proud about that. he said the other child, her new roommate, look at her father and he said don’t worry let’s go get a macbook from the campus store. two very happy college freshman on their first big day stepping out into the world.
that’s the story you want to tell. you want that joy. that magic. you want that feeling that only the apple mac can provide. they can do much better. that was a terrible commercial.

  2. Negative, woke, confusing BS. Low energy struggle in the darkness.

Apple marketing executives get millions of salary for this? Time to fire the DEI losers.

When was the last memorable ad campaign for Apple? 20 years ago?
