“I still can’t find a wizard that can come up to write a program that will export my calendar from iCal so I can get into my Sidekick,” Rush Limbaugh told a caller on his radio show yesterday. “It will export it but like Thanksgiving shows up on November the 10th. Christmas shows up on March the 1st — and this is chump change! I’ve been asking somebody to write a program, because I use Apple’s iCal program, and I’ve got a Sidekick, which is the Mac version of the BlackBerry, and I keep my calendar and all the contact data on the computer. I want to I export it to my Sidekick so I can have it when I take it with me, and it just can’t be done — and a simple triple click? I’m about to the point of offering serious money for somebody could do it.”
“I’m now getting deluged with e-mail from people who have found for me a program iCal to Sidekick. I have that program, and it is a program that goes back to 2002. People are sending me the web address for VersionTracker. It’s a great website out there to get the latest version of software for the Mac OS or for anything else, and I have iCal to Sidekick. But the Mac OS has been, you know, revved and upgraded many times since iCal to Sidekick came out in December of 2002 — and the author, the lazy bum author of iCal the Sidekick, has not revved his program. It’s still a beta that came out in December 2002. Now, it did work for a while. It worked for a while, but all of a sudden the Mac OS gets updated and now dates… It’s really… I really don’t want to spend all this time talking because most people don’t know what I’m talking about here,” Limbaugh said.
“I’ll just tell you this: All-day events, whatever calendar I have — home, work, moon phase, whatever — if I list it as an all-day event like holidays or listed all day events rather than a specific start ask stop time all day events show up on totally inaccurate dates that make no sense. Christmas is on February 3rd, you know, and so I’ve been trying to get a new rev of this. There’s no new rev. There may be now that I’m publicly whining about it, but there hasn’t been up till now. So this rev hasn’t been done. I’ve been seeking programmers for a price to commission my own program. I’m just mentioned all this because this is a simple one, and look how difficult it is to make work,” Limbaugh said.

TheloniusMac,
As a black southerner, perhaps you should consider:
Who voted for the 1964 Civil Rights Act. (Dems)
Who voted against it. (Reps)
What the Civil Rights Act of 1964 means to you. (Much)
That you are a conservative black southerner who chooses to side with the party that opposed the freedom of his ethnic group while attacking the party that placed itself in political jeopardy championing it is amazing, baffling, and an American story.
Richard Taylor
That’s right, G-Spank: These so-called conservatives (what DO they conserve anyway?) have the ball for the next 4 years as long as chimpy doesn’t get himself Nixoned, so let’s see what they do with it. They talk real big, but when it comes to action, it’s clear that their forte’ is really talk, talk, talk, without saying ANYTHING…
“What he says he claimed, and what is reasonably true, is that he was the one most instrumental in making the Internet what it is today.”
Total, and complete, horseshit.
President Ronald Reagan did more for the nascent Internet than Al Gore could possibly do as a Senator.
President George H. W. Bush is the man who separated Milnet from Darpanet.
(And his son got teased for *CORRECTLY* using the plural “Internets” — damn liberals are so, so, so stupid!)
Remember, a lot of us were using (D)Arpanet and we *KNOW* what happened. The Reagan defense buildup (which also won the Cold War) exponentially expanded (D)Arpanet.
The Reagan bustup of the Bell monopoly rationalized long-distance communication prices (which had previously been inflated to pay for local phone service). This created markets for high-speed modems and long-haul data transmission services.
And Senator Al Gore sponsored a bill. Gee whiz whuppityf*ck.
This silly liberal revisionist history giving Senator Gore credit for midwifing the Internet has got to stop!
Give credit where it is due, to Presidents Ronald W. Reagan and George H. W. Bush.
G-spank,
It is fairly simple. Conservative Christians (The false Christian types) believe that the End Times are right around the corner.
So our dependance on oil…not important. Our envirionment…God will take care of that soon enough, so why worry. The war on Muslims….Well they do not think of Jesus and the son of God, but rather simply a respected profit, and that is NOT good enough. So they are NOT on God’s side and there for by default they are on Satan’s side, and by making war on them you get one of two things..maybe both. A: God is impressed with your efforts to fight Satan and B: The End Times is spead up a bit. Or all of the above.
Our economy, environment, oil dependancy, employment, the health care MESS and the ridiculass cost of pharmacuticals, the retirement dilema..etc, etc, etc..things that can be plainly seen as real problems do not in fact matter. Actually it is in all likelihood a big waste of time and effort to try to do anything about them..what with God coming soon.
Truly I don’t mind that people choose to believe this horse dropping. I don’t. Just as long as I am not brought down with them. Unfortunetly for me and you is that we have to breath the air, live on the polluted soil, fight for decent jobs that are still here, but for how long? And yes pay through the nose for our medications much of which is needed because we grew up in a polluted environment in the first place.

Hey Mr. Bunghole,
What the heck are you talking about? Take your head out of gstank’s butt and get a grip. George Bush is Awesome! He’s had many, many, great accomplishments with more to come dick weed. The US and world will be much better off four years from now. You liberals love to keep minorities down. What the hell have you ever done to really help them, nothing. The UN should be shut down. Completely corrupt and pathetic. Everyone knows it.
I secretly love George Bush and Rush Limbaugh! They’re completely correct.
Dear Franz
How can anyone argue with such wit and wisdom. I surrender to the better man/woman. You win.
“Everyone knows it”…Why did I not see that myself!?! It is so clean to me know.
What with a close to even split in this election it is so obvious that everyone agree’s….errrrr NEVER MIND!
Wow, Laff…holy Jesus on a stick, you’re right! Franz’s logic IS compelling. “Everyone knows it”. I forgot about that argument. When was the last time, hmmmmm, let’s see – RIGHT! 2nd grade! Those were the days. Y’know that argument pretty much won back in the day, so really, there’s no use trying fight it now…
I hesitated to add to this discussion but my contempt for ignorance will not allow me to sit idley by while the “blue state” liberals continue to divide and degrade this great nation. While we managed to emerge victorious in this last election, despite the most concerted and well-funded propaganda machine since the NSDAP, the hatred will continue to breed. They have pitted every conceivable group against one another (blacks and whites, poor and wealthy, Christians and non-believers, gays and straights, and now, once again North and South) to further the reign of liberal ideology. For now, this effort failed but it is by no means over. Just listen to them howl. It is a time to savour, however, like the war in the Middle East, we must fight it just as vigorously.
Sadly, our friend in NYC, like his fellow “blue state” liberals, does not understand the nature of the war we are now fighting as a result of 9/11 (ironically). The propaganda has had a tremendous impact. Sadly, the liberals in this country will continue to denounce the very people who are providing them the “freedoms” they so proudly bemoan. Yes, the red states have risen to the occasion. No, I don’t expect the blue states to get it. Yes, it feels good to be a red-blooded American!
Thanks for the inspiring words Thelonius!
Richard Taylor:
You had best check your facts. A higher percentage of congressional Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 than did congressional Democrats. Lyndon Johnson faced an uphill battle against racists in his own party to get it passed, even though Democrats had the majority.
It seems that many people who want Democrats in power (or at least don’t want Republicans there) like to try to get traction from the issue of race, pointing to superficial facts that tend to cast Republicans in a poor light. But upon a deeper look at the issue, charges of bigotry just don’t hold up.
At the core of today’s Republican party is the belief that people have a great potential to do and be great, whatever walk of life they are in – and that potential is greater when unfettered by the bonds of bureaucracy and government intrusions into their lives. This belief applies to all humans, regardless of race or nationality – hence the lack of Republican proposals for (and opposition to) handouts, gimmees, or partiality to one race over another.
Right on KH!! Well said! George Bush rocks!
It is amazing when two versions of reality distort to the point of complete opposition. What is reality? KH’s reality is unbelievable in my eyes. Are we living in the same world? Do we breath the same air? Very interesting indeed…
gstank,
Your reality is typical liberal hallucinations! You’re a loser dude, accept it!
Rush should shut the hell up and get a real phone. I can sync all my phat contacts onto my phone bluetoothly. Heynow!!!!!!
Osama bin Laden now has religious approval to use a nuclear device against Americans, says the former head of the CIA unit charged with tracking down the Saudi terrorist. The former agent, Michael Scheuer, speaks to Steve Kroft in his first television interview without disguise to be broadcast on 60 MINUTES Sunday, Nov. 14 (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Scheuer was until recently known as the “anonymous” author of two books critical of the West’s response to bin Laden and al Qaeda, the most recent of which is titled Imperial Hubris: Why the West is Losing the War on Terror. No one in the West knows more about the Qaeda leader than Scheuer, who has tracked him since the mid-1980s. The CIA allowed him to write the books provided he remain anonymous, but now is allowing him to reveal himself for the first time on Sunday’s broadcast; he formally leaves the Agency today (12).
Even if bin Laden had a nuclear weapon, he probably wouldn’t have used it for a lack of proper religious authority – authority he has now. “[Bin Laden] secured from a Saudi sheik…a rather long treatise on the possibility of using nuclear weapons against the Americans,” says Scheuer. “[The treatise] found that he was perfectly within his rights to use them. Muslims argue that the United States is responsible for millions of dead Muslims around the world, so reciprocity would mean you could kill millions of Americans,” Scheuer tells Kroft.
Scheuer says bin Laden was criticized by some Muslims for the 9/11 attack because he killed so many people without enough warning and before offering to help convert them to Islam. But now bin Laden has addressed the American people and given fair warning. “They’re intention is to end the war as soon as they can and to ratchet up the pain for the Americans until we get out of their region….If they acquire the weapon, they will use it, whether it’s chemical, biological or some sort of nuclear weapon,” says Scheuer.
As the head of the CIA unit charged with tracking bin Laden from 1996 to 1999, Scheuer says he never had enough people to do the job right. He blames former CIA Director George Tenet. “One of the questions that should have been asked of Mr. Tenet was why were there always enough people for the public relations office, for the academic outreach office, for the diversity and multi-cultural office? All those things are admirable and necessary but none of them are protecting the American people from a foreign threat,” says Scheuer.
And the threat posed by bin Laden is also underestimated, says Scheuer. “I think our leaders over the last decade have done the American people a disservice…continuing to characterize Osama bin Laden as a thug, as a gangster,” he says. “Until we respect him, sir, we are going to die in numbers that are probably unnecessary, yes. He’s a very, very talented man and a very worthy opponent,” he tells Kroft.
Until today (12), Scheuer was a senior official in the CIA’s counter terrorism unit and a special advisor to the head of the agency’s bin Laden unit.
We all love Rush in my town!

Bush passes 60,000,000 votes! Rock GW we love you!
G-Spank:
Since you can’t tell the difference between “news” and “opinion” you confirm my assessment that most liberals, at best, would score less than 4 on the Glasgow Coma Scale.
There we go Moose! Now we’re getting with it! Start insulting me as STUPID!!! Now your true colors are coming out! Ooooooh big smart Moose tell dumb liberal he is stupid. Big Moose win fight!
Maxwell,
I wasn’t hallucinating, I was merely making an OBSERVATION.
Once again, the mud thickens with hatred of “Liberals” and anger. HEY THELONIAS!!! YOU READIN’ THIS!?
wether the piece was an opinion peice on a newspaper type of site doesn’t have anything to do with the argument. wether I call “news” or “opinion” still doesn’t negate the fact that you are citing it as some kind of reputable source for “How Liberals are taking the election”. The source has one motivation: to Flame Liberals, and you are using that as some kind of back for your crusade. It’s Ludicrous, Moose. It’s really really pathetic. It’s as pathetic as when a Liberal feeds off of Moveon.org and cites it as The Truth. I’m sure you detest those kinds of people, and yet, you are the exact same thing on the other side. It’s sad, and it’s one thing that is ripping this great country apart. Stop being part of the problem…
Does anyone here think the election was fixed? I have heard some pretty suspicious things concerning the election results compared to voting method and exit polls.
I wouldn’t touch this string with a ten foot pole!
A few thoughts.
I have lots of liberal friends, a lot of Christian and atheist friends and a lot of Mac and pc using friends. I get along with all of them. Life is more than politics or computer platforms.
Hey gspank, this nation has always been divided, get used to it.
The difference between Rush and say, Ted Coppel is simple. Rush says, “Here is my perspective on this subject”. Coppel admits no such thing, but portrays his bias as objective reporting. People know what they’re getting with Rush, like it or not. With Coppel and the rest, they are being deceived.
Rush is a Mac fan, Coppel is not.
