You just made a very huge mistake by ordering the iPhone 6 Plus

“Look, the iPhone 6 Plus has a lot going for it. Its battery is like, so much better than the iPhone 5s. The camera is even better than the iPhone 6! And the screen! Holy screen!” Jonathan S. Geller writes for BGR. “But there is one big problem here… most of you just picked it because it was the ‘better’ and more expensive option.”

Geller writes, “I think there’s a good chance that over half of you that ordered the iPhone 6 Plus are going to end up returning it for the iPhone 6, which is already substantially larger than the iPhone 5s.”

  1. The writer ignores the pent-up demand for a large screened iPhone that i evident in sales of large Android devices and in evidence from Apple’s internal discussions released in the patent dispute with Samsung. It would be more reasonable to say that the majority of 6+ pre-purchases were made by people who had been waiting for this product. Of course some purchasers may decide it is just too unwieldy but I doubt that the return rate will be high. The dedicated “fanboys” amongst us will probably buy both.

As for me, I am going to have a look in the store when they are available. The 6+ may be useful for film-making and for GPS in the car – I have a 4S which I may keep for everyday use but which is too small and fiddly for web browsing.

There is no rush – ApplePay won’t be available outside the US for some time and I am not sure about the Watch – I haven’t worn my super-thin Longines analogue watch for years because having anything on my wrist annoys me.

  2. iPhone 6. The 6 Plus was too big. I am sad I don’t get some of the features as the 6 Plus and I didn’t need a bigger phone. But I am really looking forward to the speed and hopefully longer battery life.

  3.  I’m keeping my iPhone 5S. It’s the perfect size for me. I’m kind of amazed actually at how small text and images can be—way smaller than postage stamp size— and still be perfectly readable to me. We are all individuals aren’t we. I think John Lennon got it wrong when he said “I am you and you are me and we are all together.” (love using that shift/alt/K).

  4. Ordered the iPhone 6 plus.. Then After ordering it I cut, I made a mock up just to be sure.. It’s big.. I have my doubts. But the the iPad mini almost never lease my side, so in some way it’s smaller also..

  5. 6 plus. I bought original iPhone & research apple closely. 6plus is star of this show. There is always someone Bad Mouthing apple & it’s products, either from stupidity or monetary reasons

  6. Ordered the 6+. Didn’t think I would until I read the parts about full HD and optical stabilization and better battery life. I’m a professional television news cameraman and video editor and one client has me regularly shooting their CEO with the iPhone. It was a no-brainer for me to get the 6+.

  7. I went 6+ because of battery, first. Then, the horizontal orientation advances, then optical stabilization, then screen size, for the extra real estate. Older eyes need larger text. This screen size should facilitate that better.

I have held a friend’s Note to see what it will be like (yes, I shivered holding a Samesung), and, it really wasn’t THAT much bigger to hold, than my 5S.

    We’ll see.

  8. I got the 64GB 6+ because I’m hoping I find I don’t need my iPad Mini anymore. The full size iPad has always been too heavy for reading in my opinion while I prefer it for other things so I’m thinking the 6+ can do more and let me get the full sized iPad. I REALLY don’t want all 3! I almost never use the iPhone held up as a traditional phone anyway. Speakerphone or earbuds so thats not a consideration either.
