“In an upcoming PBS interview with Charlie Rose, set to air Friday night, Apple CEO Tim Cook discusses the company’s current product lineup, Beats, Apple TV, Steve Jobs’ legacy and hints at new product categories that ‘no one knows about,'” AppleInsider reports.
“When asked about Apple’s future product pipeline, Cook admitted that there are a lot of things the company has interest in, but a focus on execution prohibits the number of devices it can work on at any given point,” AppleInsider reports. “‘There are products we’re working on that no one knows about, yes. That haven’t been rumored about yet,’ Cook said.”
AppleInsider reports, “Cook talks about Apple cofounder Steve Jobs, saying, ‘I think about Steve every day,’ a comment he made on Tuesday during an interview with ABC News‘ David Muir. Another interesting tidbit dropped during Rose’s interview is that Jobs’ office remains untouched at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters.”

Let the rumors begin… 🙂
Apple robotics. Actually, like Apple Watch is today, it will be an “extension” of a future iPhone’s capabilities.
Okay let’s fix that.
1. Furniture
2. Cars
3. Solar
4. Space plane
5. Pains of glass for display (windows, mirrors, wind screens, etc)
6. 3D Printing
7. New class of wireless networking, not based on radio waves, but entangled atoms or photons.
Your turn.
Well, since they just reclaimed the digital crown, I figure the porcelain god is next, with inductive charging for all your iDevices that accompany you. It’s the ultimate commode-ity market!
In addition, you might have your scepter recharged while you are otherwise focused (ahem) on other details.
Great idea. Digital toilets are up and coming. Big in Japan. But not really an Apple image. Maybe better suited for Samsung.
I think urine the right direction, but Apple has probably poo-pooed the idea. They are flush with creative people, so this would be a waste.
“digital crown” … (watch) I see what you did there.
Toilets that turn waste into energy!
Flux capacitor is better. I bet you could put human waste in that too.
I want a product that turns waist into energy.
I want a product that turns bullshit into energy. Then we just need to wirelessly plug fandroids into it. World energy problem solved The inventor a multiple billionaire.
A Death Star .
Light Saber.
Death Saber.
A lighter Death Saber
CARS please. Just waiting for Apple to buy Tesla or at least integrate their system in it, instead of the Google thing. Will not buy it without Apple’s integration, though a fantastic car otherwise.
Then Apple has completed the circle, HomeKit, HealthKit, aWatch and the workplace with the Macs. Just needs to takeover the box that’s running between home and work, the Car.
Elon Musk joins the team. It would be sweet in deed.
I was thinking of all the companies that could join Apple to form a cradle to grave organization, where your entire life and all possessions could be provided by Apple. No it’s just a game my friends.
Tesla
Whole Foods
Levi’s
Disney/ABC
Sony (the whole thing)
Lowe’s
Any others?
Is it me or does it seem like iPhones and iPhone designs are the only things that seem to lea?. iPads and iPods don’t seem to leak, the watch design didn’t leak the new R2D2 mac pro didn’t leak.
Watch isn’t in production yet, so Apple can keep better security on home turf (was same with R2D2). Once it goes to manufacturers (iPhone, iPad) there are tons of places for things to slip through the net. I’m sure apple cracks down where it finds leaks, but I’d imagine the pipeline is something of a hydra…
iPads and iPods have leaked. Usually all we see are screens and aluminum casings. The WATCH, Mac Pro, and iPhone were all new product lines and as such hadn’t entered production before being announced. Which is why they didn’t leak prior to announcements.
Supply chain leaks will inevitably occur because of the volume (both in people and production units) involved. For designs that did not leak, those had not yet entered volume production. But, also Apple has to keep a much longer period between the unveiling and start of volume production because of FCC filings. The specs on the Apple Watch are not final because it has not yet received FCC approval and Apple likely only filed the FCC paperwork after they unveiled the design.
That would be a good description of yourself !!
i think apple will be offering more services in the future. possibly its own WIFI ISP, offer its own TVservice, become even more involved with cars. car play is just the beginning.
It will be 3D Printing!!!
My vote is for a digitized framasham cam to go along with Carplay
the people – I sure hope you are correct. That would make things so much simpler for hoards of people.
I Know, I know about one new product that is coming 2015. Unfortunately I am not allowed to tell you. That is the hardest part because I am so damn excited about it.
It perfectly fits into the ecosystem and if you take your time thinking about what this product could (should) be, you probably might find out by yourself.
Just a tip, you will love it & it is none of the above mentioned.
Let me know what’s your guess 😉
My guess is a belt.
Does that make sense at all?
Or …. Let me think real quick, Maybe a brand new naked-selfie security system for celebrities, oh, don’t be mad at me Jenny, you did a very good job in terms of public awareness for password security and phishing.
Realistic answers:
-Smart clothing.
-Non-hardcore medical hardware. (We are so shortsighted to think Apple only met with the FDA to discuss the WATCH.)
-Some household gadgets would at least be discussed, but would likely be one of the thousand NOs for every one YES. (Think Dyson air multiplier fan type products.)
-Jony Ive has previously said that he would “like to design cups.” Although I don’t think that we are likely to see an Apple line to compete with Crate & Barrel.
-I could also see Apple working on specific products for enterprise and retail applications.
I think HD music is why Apple bought Beats. High Res Music could be another cash cow for Apple. Apple needed the Beats HD Music hardware and more importantly the Software for HD music. Look for Apple to release HD iTunes, HD iPod, etc.
That is a very small market you are referring to. The Apple demographic would rather rent music than purchase it. I have Beats streaming music and the sound quality is good enough for the average person with ear buds or decent cans.
i think iTunes match/beats will turn into a music subscription
I’m in line for the teletransporter.
Still a legend in his own mind.
Mac Drones
Apple Vibrator.
“Yeah, we’re working on a speed bump for the Mac Mini, a little more storage for the MacBook Pro, a little faster processor for the iPhones and even a brighter display for the iMac. We’re working on all kinds of stuff that you haven’t heard about — all the trivial, incremental improvements you’ve come to expect from Tim Cook.”
From the patents, one good guess is an aerial hand gesture system. It will, no doubt, enable an Apple 3D GUI. We’ve seen plenty of films with something similar. It can also be applied to virtual reality gaming, medicine, fondling…
Derek
Apple Life.
Not a productivity suite! A real, entirely new, customizable (to an extent) Life, designed by Apple in California.
No carrier contract necessary.*
2nd the Light Saber
But I want my Hover Board also.
The next great thing: A personal heat energy extraction device that takes heat from your body core and converts it to run all you iDevices while keeping you cool. Solders on the battle field could keep cool while communicating with the rest of the platoon (if they didn’t give a sh!t)
A solar powered iPhone!!! Yeah! Thats what i want!
The Apple Drone will be freaking massive.
Way to go TIm!
F**k with Samsung, and other’s heads! 🙂
duh! Transparent aluminum
Apple will buy GT Advanced Technologies outright, and produce an array of affordable consumer solar technology; they will have an Apple Channel that delivers TV ‘cable’ and other content for pennies; and a wide of array of health and integrated medical devices. Then there’s the guided power saw we all need to make Homekit stuff …
