Apple CEO Tim Cook and a team of Apple executives — hopefully large portions of which will be led by the excellent presenter Craig Federighi — will be holding their much-anticipated “Wish We Could Say More” special media event today, September 9th, at 10am PDT/ 1pm EDT.
The special event will take place at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts and in a three-story mystery building Apple has built adjacent to the facility in Cupertino, California.
It is widely expected that next-gen iPhones with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays will be unveiled today along with the possibility of a new mobile payments system and potentially accompanied by the announcement of a wearable device, and maybe even some more surprise(s)!’
The event will be webcast live by Apple here. MacDailyNews will offer live notes during Tim Cook and company’s special media event presentation right here on this page. So, just bookmark this page, open both the webcast and this page, so you can watch and comment live, and we’ll see you here!

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again. Tim “the steward” Cook needs to be fired, and big time.
Tim’s one last thing should be his resignation.
Wow, this keynote is cringeworthy. Especially the ads.
My Apple TV crashed for the first time ever. We broke the inter webs people.
I guess the demand for live feed melted internet backbone.
To hell with the video streaming, I’ll just read MDN as usual.
No price increase on base model: that’s a relief!
The problems with the web feed and the ATV stream
Brings a whole new meaning to “Wish we could say more”
Someone tell Phil the difference between silicon and silicone. Sheesh, he’s only representing the most valuable technology company in the world.
This is horrible. Video jumps around too much.
And yeah, the Chinese translation at the beginning was too much.
I expected sabotage of the live feed all along, so I planned to follow MDN’s live coverage instead. I refresh this web page every few minutes, meantime chuckling at the new crop of trolls showing up in the comments
Live Stream Feed problems? you believe guys believe that? LOL. more like Wall Street Justice. How much is that stock up today?Hmm, no correlations? lol. ok. Its driving CNBC fucktards crazy. lol. oh the pleasure I am having today. Tim Cook is a badass. I’ll be there soon guys, just let me get my app in order to pitch to AAPL or a kickstarter. Its going to be worth a lot. Probably can just sell the concept for straight cash, like I did my previous coding experiences…
HOLY FUCK! Look at that!
but… does it tell time?
it can calculate the relativistic space-time interval between two events, that ought to be good enuf
That is one fugly watch.
AnR = Android Retard?
AnR is one fugly returd.
Definitely buying the watch. Only issue is the thickness.
I just don’t know if this watch is going to be something i wanna buy. love the new iPhone stuff and wallet….but i am still not convinced on the watch. the stuff they are promoting just seems to unenjoyable to do on such a small device….guess i just gotta try it.
Android just died.
Nice, try, this watch is fugly, boring, overhyped, overrated, overpriced, and pretty much a disappointment.
Says who besides an asshat like you? I thought Ives beautifully designed it so that not just geeks will wear it but people who might be more concerned about wearing something a bit more stylish than overly techy. Plus the side stem control is genius. Sorry it couldn’t have looked more like the “Homer” car for you such is your predictable lack of style or class. Why don’t you just strap your Android phone to your wrist and call it a day?
The only issue I see is the case thickness. Will have to see in person to decide.
The functionality and phone integration look super awesome. Especially like the Apple Pay on watch because I won’t replace my phone until next year on my contract cycle.
WTF!
Cook suddenly disappeared and the watch presenter appeared between audio dropouts, showing AGAIN how to contact Jeff and how to draw a fish.
What a fuck up.
I can’t believe this. We all anticipated this event for a year. Apple has been so quiet for an entire year. And this is it? This is all they have? Where are the Retina iMacs? New iPads? The Watch doesn’t ship till next year! What on earth are they doing at Apple? One too many beer bashes.
If this Website MacDailyNews keeps standing by Tim Cook and pumping Apple’s tires I’m going to vomit. Innovation at Apple has slowed considerably. Look at that watch! It’s ugly as hell. Analog controls for scrolling? A dedicated analog button for a communication App?
Tim Cook did not once make any case as to why the watch actually needs to live. And for core functionality and things like Maps, messages, etc., you need your god damn smartphone on you! Why on earth would anyone not just use their smartphone which has a way bigger screen and is much easier to navigate and interact with. Time will tell if the watch sells a ton, but I just do not see people strapping this hulking piece of ugly on their wrist which replicates many of the features of a smartphone only in a more limited fashion on a tiny screen.
The fitness applications are good, but it’s tough to see much use cases outside of this.
Not to mention, they didn’t even demo the damn thing on an actual wrist. Epic fail.
you really don’t get it do you?
As for ‘Retina iMacs’ etc: DUDE when you make a BIG NEW PLATFORM ANNOUNCEMENT and introduce new versions of you biggest selling product i.e iPhone (which in itself is a bigger business than Google) YOU MIGHT NOT WANT TO CLUTTER IT WITH OTHER STUFF. When people are hyped about these things a mac etc announcement will just get lost.
as for the watch you don’t get it:
it’s a ‘quick use device’ you can glance at it, tap it to pay etc without pulling out your phone and a ‘sensor’.
Just like the iPhone when the app developers get to it it will be an even bigger deal.
The watch makes the phone way more powerful.
Best keynote in memory!
Nice to see all the asshole commentards out in force. Yes, there were problems with the live feed but I somewhat expected this due to the enormous hype.
Kvetch all you want but Apple just knocked a whopper right out of the park and into orbit.
Now to recover my jaw off the floor…
=:~)
The announcements today, together with the announcements at WWDC 14, form a rope bridge over the chasm of indifference and defeat.
What is even more significant than any of the products (wonderful as they are) which the naysayers don’t get is the Apple Ecosystem , all your Apple devices are now incredibly linked. The system makes each product greater.
The Ecosytem is the thing the mess which is Android will never emulate.
Live feed had some issues….so will be rewatching on recorded video feed available later today. COOL event for what I could see, but TV crew should be fired.
No, investigate first. The likelihood is that the live feed disruption is part of a FUD assault that included the Apple Store outages and the security hysteria, reinforced with new mercenaries flush with KRW and with willingly complicit yellow journalists. Also expect a new wave of trolling, already begun right here.
Hannah with the omnipotent brain, spot on once again! We love you. And it’s great fun to finally see your photo.
Thank you for your support, citizen. The photo may reflect in vino veritas but I hope to find a more dignified replacement
Did we blow out the limits of WordPress with our comments? This is a test. What I just posted was not posted. So I’m using it as a MacSmarticle at my blogs. Darn MDN!
Same thing happened to me — I tried posting twice, but no dice. MDN has issues
It’s been an overall odd day on the Internet. My mom can’t get her email. The smiley+ buttons at MacUpdate are dead. WordPress dumped two beautifully literate reader posts. Yesterday appleid.apple.com turned into bizarro world with even Apple flummoxed about what was the problem.
I keep returning to the theory that the more complex the electronics and code, the more it responds to the moods of the human subconscious. It’s angst, excitement and stress week. The gear responds accordingly. We’re turning into the ‘Forbidden Planet’. (0_0)
You might think that, Derek, but I prefer to suppose malicious tinkering by children.
