“The US Patent and Trademark Office officially published a series of 35 newly granted patents for Apple Inc. today,” Jack Purcher reports for Patently Apple.
“Apple has been granted a patent today for their invention relating to working with 3D objects,” Purcher reports. “Apple’s granted patent reveals various concepts behind newly advanced 3D gesturing that will apply to CAD, gaming and consumer applications. According to Apple, next generation iPad and/or other iOS device displays will allow consumers to create avatars for 3D environments or assist homeowners in designing new landscapes and more by using simple 3D gesturing. The new 3D gesturing will control color and textures while allowing users to uniquely rotate objects to gain different perspectives of their designs.”
Purcher reports, “Apple has [also] been granted a patent today for their invention relating to systems and methods for generating a quick start workout template and calibrating an electronic device using the workout template are provided.”

Another Apple patent – Yawn – they never seem to produce anything from all the amazing patents and innovation they register. We will get a Gold Iphone and slimmer Imac’s and smaller Ipad in last 12 months. 2014 better have some great products or Tim Cook will be looking at the exit door.
Actually what Apple has to do is train people to understand that they don’t need hot new products to remain a powerful industry leader. And to realise that hot new groundbreaking products will be a rare if wonderful exception from their ongoing business, NOT the rule so expectation is ludicrously overblown all the time. There really are only so many groundbreaking new products they can produce and doing so for the sake of it will really hurt badly especially as the initial ridicule over previous incarnations will be all the worse without SJ and the opposition all the more prepared to jump on the band wagon to copy everything along the way. So new exciting products have to be seriously good and ready before they are launched to succeed.
