“The U.S. Supreme Court today denied Psystar’s request to review a lower court decision that keeps it from selling computers that run Apple’s OS X but that are not made by Apple,” Josh Lowensohn reports for CNET.
“The decision not to hear the case (PDF) upholds a ruling made by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit last September that Psystar’s Mac clones violate Apple’s copyrights,” Lowensohn reports.

Pystar didn’t have any technology, amazing or otherwise.
Any geek can do what they did, a few google searches will show you how.
What Pystar tried to do is make a business out of it.
All they had was a business plan, which has now been proven to be illegall.
Somebody, somewhere knows who funded them, but you can bet all documents linking to them have been destroyed a long time ago.

I kinda wonder who the guy really was. He didn’t post except to say how he loved Psystar machines and that he supported them. Once Psystar quit selling the computers, he disappeared.
I guess he could’ve been a paid shill, but he didn’t seem eloquent enough for that.

Finally done!!! On to getting rid of Proview.
There will never be another Psystar, but this case is only a tiny part of the reason why. If you actually read the case, it is clear that the thing that Psystar did that caused them to lose the case was to sell machines with a retail copy of OSX preinstalled. If, instead, they had sold the identical machine without any OS on it and then gave you instructions to buy your own retail copy of OSX and then instructed you on how to install it, there would be no lawsuit. Indeed, note that Apple has never pursued anyone advocating making a Hackintosh nor any manufacturer of a machine capable of being turned into a Hackintosh. So the real reason that there will never be another Psystar is that Apple no longer sells retail copies of OSX.
