“Microsoft workers celebrated the release to manufacturing of Windows Phone 7 last week by parading through their Redmond campus with iPhone and BlackBerry hearses,” Tom Warren reports for Neowin.
“Employees dressed up in fancy dress and also modified cars to include Windows Phone branding,” Warren reports. “Aside from the crazy outfits the workers made fake hearses for giant BlackBerry and iPhone devices. Employees cheekily claimed they had buried the competition with Windows Phone 7.”
Warren reports, “Windows Phone 7 is expected to be available in late October for those in Europe and November for those in the US.”

And then they did this:
MacDailyNews Take: Unmitigated hubris from the perennially outclassed and hopelessly mismanaged. Par for the course.
Okay, TGIF! Hoist! May Steve Ballmer remain Microsoft CEO for as long as it takes!

How sadly delusional Microsoft is. Only difference in new millennium is that this time no one is surprised.
A better strategy for Ford when Toyota was beginning to beat their ass would have been to invite all of the Ford employee Toyota owners to dinner for a frank discussion. Nooo – lets have a funeral instead! Please Mr. Ballmer – STAY
Once again MS is counting its triumphs before its failures have hatched. Really sad to see that kind of development money pissed away when it would buy so much beer.
I’m sure in their pathetic little world this would be considered cool…Douches!
@coolfactor
Looking at the 2010 portion alone, Android sales are exceeding iPhone sales worldwide at this point. I think that’s agreed upon by most market watchers.
If the iPhone is still an AT&T only device in 2011, 2012, it will be in serious decline.
There so sure of themselves arent they? Hmmm a Microsoft phone.. Dont think so!
@ theloniousMac
Also remember the iPhone is only one phone – How many does Android have? – I’d say that is pretty freaking good that Apple can do this with one phone model.
And is an Android phone really a smart phone?
Hmmm, and Foxcon is producing 137,000 iPhones a day?
A hearse?
iPhones are riding a white horse.
I’m confused, Hey! Microsft! That doesn’t look anything like a Kin!!!
@ coolfactor: theloniousMac’s chart shows that Android has already surpassed both Apple and RIM in worldwide market share. And that’s something I think I would have read about were it actually true. So I take that chart to be a major lie.
The comments underneath the article are precious! Read as the “MicroSerfs” go on about the the glory of MicroSoft and how MS should just buy Apple etc…. Simply precious!
How insensitive! I am going to burn my copy of MS for Dummies.
Rather embarrassing. And they took the time off from work to do THIS?
Like everything else MS does:
Derivitive Dreck..
@Thelonius: That graph is just a made-up thing, isn’t it? Admit it. Looks like something I’d do, with my sales figures, when I dream of owning a Bentley by next Autumn. Can’t even afford my chauffeur yet. Let alone the actual car. I know we can all dream, but I really doubt the iPhone is going downwards any time soon. But dream on if you choose.
We should all hold our own… “Windows Phone 7 Launch Party!”
Zune Tang – you are formally invited to mine. Please bring a dish to share.
Cheers!
Poor wanabies!
They have to do this show because they know it will never happen on reality.
How pathetic.
Shit happens, man®
So Windows Phone 7 (Phone 7) is going to bury the competition, when Microsoft is trying to sell Phone 7 to OEMs, which can have the superior Android for free to better compete against the iOS, which is the best mobile OS in the world. Phone 7’s business model of trying to sell an inferior OS to OEMs, when the much superior Android can be had for free, isn’t eve viable. This wasn’t a funeral; it was the terminally ill Windows Mobile whistling past the grave yard on its way to the death house.
OMG guys! click on the fricken link for this article! They did a rendition of MICHAEL JACKSON’S “THRILLER” too! LOL! I’m speechless! This is too much lol! What tards
How can one really pay attention to this bunch. They can’t even make the right choices for a ritual. Look at the picture, see it, thats right, Bagpipes.
MSFT showing how out of touch they are with the real world. And yes MDN, hubris is the right word for MS. And childish. And tasteless.
Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “Next of Kin”.
These were the employees who didn’t get the correction memo: all references to iPhone and Windows7 were accidentally reversed. Management wanted to hold a wake for W7, as they expect it to be stillborn on the release date.
Where’s the big fat doofus with the Zune tattoo?
He’d fit right in.
and in other news….Urkel held an “I’m sexier than Denzel Washington” press conference.
