Apple blasts Microsoft Windows PCs in two new ‘Get a Mac’ ads (with video)

In two new ads now running on broadcast and cable TV networks across the U.S. and also available online, Apple blasts Microsoft’s Windows Vista and the inferior horizontal integration PC model (too many cooks in the kitchen) vs. Apple’s superior vertical integration Mac model (control of the whole widget):

Apple’s Get a Mac “Yoga” ad featuring “Miss Guided” actress Judy Greer:

  1. To me these Get a Mac ads are great! They should keep them the way they are. They work very well ALONG WITH the iTunes/iPod and iPhone ads. The ads for Apple’s three product groupings are works of genius and work together to further the brand.

Get a Mac – keep the brand in the mind with humor and general concepts

iTunes/iPod – relate the brand with young and cool

iPhone – show how one part of one item works easily.

You don’t need to do all three for each of the items, as the ads from one of the legs support the other two by association.

So for those who want Apple to show specifics about Mac OS X on their TV commercials – they are, but via the iPhone ads.

  2. They need to drop these ads and work on a new formula. Time to grow up I think. You don’t see any ads where BMW or Merc makes fun of Ford or Vauxhall etc. —MacFanBoy

How could anyone fault such sterling logic: BMW doesn’t do it, so why should Apple?” That certainly says it all!

Apple’s “I’m a Mac” ads are one of the best-known advertising campaigns in history and MacFanBoy thinks Apple needs a new formula. Brilliant!

  3. Hmm. The current conservative estimate is that Macs had 14% of the PC market share last quarter.

And these brilliant ads are ‘not’ working?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Seriously. Isn’t this a great time for the computing industry? At last people have a clear choice presented clearly and precisely in front of them: Either stick with the IBM-derived non-standard hardware platform, and suffer from Windows or some form of Linux. OR ‘Get A Mac’ and run any operating system you like on the single most reliable, inexpensive (if you bother to consider Return On Investment and Cost Of Ownership), and often FAST (as proven on Mac laptops running Vista) PC hardware platform in history.

Oh the poor suffering trolls. “I’m MELTING, Melting, melting…”

  4. pc apologista: Read beyond the headlines, dufus, The exploit that cracked the Air Book was prepared beforehand. The 2 mins reflects how long it took to log in & direct the machine to the pre-prepared website, not how long it took to “hack the machine”. There was a WIN exploit prepared beforehand too. Unfortunately, the guys creating it hadn’t reckoned on the SP1 update just in advance of Cansec West. The WIN hackers were incompetent, which goes with the territory, I suppose.
