Apple calls Rush Limbaugh; working on his Mac issues

Apple has contacted Rush Limbaugh about the Mac issues that he’s been talking about this week on the most listened to radio talk show in America; heard on over 600 stations in the U.S.

Partial transcript from The Rush Limbaugh Show yesterday:

I have an announcement to make: Apple corporate called. Somebody from high up the corporate ladder at Apple Computer in California, out in Cupertino, called the office. When did you get the message? When did they call, late yesterday afternoon? All right, they called at nine o’clock this morning, very, very, very nice guy, put my IT guy in touch with them, working — No, it was not Algore. Ha! No, Mr. Snerdley, it was not Algore. I’m not going to mention the gentleman’s name because the Mac user community that hates me will start bombarding this guy. He’s a west coast guy. He called about six a.m. out there and said, “I’m here now,” so our IT guy is working with him. That’s cool. Yes, it’s official. It’s not a hacker. It was official. Don’t start gumming up the works. It was really true.

MacDailyNews Take: The more Rush Limbaugh talks about Macs (even if it’s about issues he’s having), the better it is for Apple. Rush is planting Apple seeds. Making Apple Macs a real consideration for millions of people who might not have even thought about freeing themselves from the frustration and disappointment of Microsoft Windows is a very good thing.

  1. @ Jim – TIV

A four-year-old makes up a name like Algore and continues to use it for 16 years. And he does it because he isn’t any smarter than that. How does it benefit anyone to ‘include’ such people? Rush is a comedian, not a political thinker, and I’d no sooner move to ‘include’ Stephen Colbert in a serious political discussion, much less Rush. Yet bagging on him makes Democrats ‘exclusive’?

  2. @ ron me old china,

You having a belt buckle mate? Unions indeed. Your mecca remark says it all, makes me think it’s really the bacon sarnies mate.

Take a butchers man. The septics letting it happen too, you better Adam and Eve it.

Personally I think you’re a bit of the back and front for leaving the beans. Blokes like you leave us all daffy ducked mate.

    Funny…MW/ball…as in you’re a real ball and bat…

  3. Regardless of what you liberals think of Rush’s political opinions, he is a long time Mac user. He, like many of us were using Macs when everyone else wanted us dead and gone. He raved about them on his program and played as much a part as he could in being a part of the Mac Faithful in those dark days.

At least show the man some respect for this as one of us.

Try to separate your political views from your other views. Isn’t seeing people as not ALL BAD a big Liberal platform? Working in rabidly Liberal city here, I have listened to Lliberals with more open minded acceptance and sympathy of murderers in prison than just someone who’s political beliefs aren’t in line with theirs. How hypocritical.

  4. Rush is merely acknowledging the end of the disastrous republican reign he so assiduously supported for so many years. Mr. Bipartisan now? – HA!

I don’t know about him personally, but the people I’ve known who listen to him avidly (dittoheads) have been very prejudiced and bigoted, as much as Freepers.

Now, if he will start supporting an end to The War On Non-Prescription Drugs and a return to sanity, he just might redeem himself. Well, Rush?

  5. That’s nice…

Now… if Rush Limbaugh still has any real brain cells left and if he can still remember how to think… then maybe, just maybe… he’ll be able over time… learn how to use a real live Mac with OS X (10.5)!

If Apple can teach the asshole… it would make a great add… something alone these lines…

    WOW…

ANYONE CAN LEARN TO USE A MAC…

    EVENY RUSH LIMBAUGH!

  6. Rush Limbaugh’s politics may be insufferable, but he’s living proof that even morons sometimes make the right choice. The scariest thing about people like R.L. is not their opinions, but that someone with such extreme opinions is so popular.

  7. Rush’s only redeeming quality, and I mean ONLY, is that he’s a hardcore Mac/iPhone user and lover with a massive audience of “ditto heads”.

What that tells me is there are still a few of his brain cells left that are working properly, even after all the abuse (food, prescription drugs, ex-wives, God knows what else). I look at Rush and it’s almost like finding out Ozzy Osbourne or Keith Richards is a Mac fan/user.

Maybe because of the little bit of mind he’s working with, Macs are a good choice for him because they’re that easy to use!

    Peace.

  8. @ Ampar: From your last rant I’m convinced. You are someone’s ex-wife. No wonder your husband put you on the road.

I hope you at least use a Mac and aren’t just here because you saw a link on DailyKOS or the H.Post.

  9. I’d love to see Al Gore and Rush Limbaugh make a pro-Apple computer commercial. They could do it in the tone of the “I’m a Mac vs I’m a PC” commercials replaced with I’m a Liberal vs I’m a Conservative.

  10. Besides, Bill Gates is a lib and you hate him.

Uh, Gates is not a “lib.” He contributed the maximum to the Bush campaign in 2004. How do you think Microsoft has gotten such soft treatment from the DoJ for their monopolistic practices?

  11. I’m tired of all the political bollocks on this site….

This is a mac news site people!!

Ron… why you hating on the british?

    RS… Ampar… calm down guys!
I’m surprised you guys can be bothered to argue over the internet…
