TIME Magazine has published a photo essay, “Al Gore’s American Life,” which shows former U.S. Vice President and current Apple Inc. Board of Directors member Al Gore’s personal computer setup which features no less than three 30-inch Apple Cinema HD Displays which are each capable of 2560 x 1600 resolution:
See the full image, which includes Gore’s very cluttered office, here.
MacDailyNews Take: Obviously, Gore enjoys (screen) real estate, but you’d think that massive monitor setup would help Gore achieve something much closer to a paperless office (see full image). Think of the trees, Al. Although we’re hardly ones to talk, we hereby nominate Gore for TLC’s “Clean Sweep” TV program.

Wow… headed for 3 pages on a Sunday afternoon.
Ever feel like a tool? MDN has us pegged.
G’night, guys.

TT: Thanks for painting a very small part of the story of Harding.
Now please elaborate on his corrupt and short administration, the Teapot Dome Scandal and his wonderful Fall guy, opposition to internationalism and Wilson’s League of Nations, moving America into isolationism, numerous extra-marital affairs, corrupt and suicidal Cabinet members, corrupt, bribe-taking Attorney General, and his blatant misuse of government resources.
And my favorite:
“I am not fit for this office and never should have been here.”
– Warren Harding
And this:
“My God, this is a hell of a job!” Harding said. “I have no trouble with my enemies, but my damn friends, my God-damned friends… they’re the ones that keep me walking the floor nights!”

Sorry about the double post.
No Squirt
Actually, I was just pointing out that he had some good ideas, shared them, and then let it all go to hell.
Chrissy
My goverment does a hell of a job on many fronts. Not perfect, and far from what I would like. But if all share the view that it is pointless, then it will be.
Like the old saying goes, ‘whether you think you can or can’t, you’re right’.
Quad Core:
Fascism is a disease of the Right, ably demonstrated in its hatred for Communism, a disease of the Left.
The current NeoCons (and their tail, the Republican Party) are fascists in all but name. As Hitler said, “Fascism is an alliance between government and industry.” Sound left wing to you?
I say it again, what a bunch of maroons.
If you’re proud of electing this moron, that makes you a moron.
As for the comments about the value of arguing, these NeoCons have commanded the public discourse for the past decade. I have stood, I’ve walked to the window, I’ve looked out and I’ve said, “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!”
Or, as your moron president said, “Bring it on!”
Hey Richard, in my neighborhood your still called Dick
Pope, that’s it? That’s all you got?
Richard
Yes, an alliance between governmaent and business does sound familiar.
It is called regulation, and it is what the left does every chance it gets.
Quote Hitler all you want. In a free and open society, commerce and industry are allowed to prosper as much as possile with as little oversight as needed.
Again, nice try. Socialism or Facism, either way, the government controls most functions of business.
That is not an aspect conservativism.
“The only reason Al Queda is in Iraq is because we are there.”
Actually, Iraq hosted Al Queda camps in the northern regions for many years.
“type fast, and sloppily. Not concerned with sentence structure in an “internets” post.”
So you can judge others by simple gaffs, but nobody can judge you that way?
“Surely, I am 10 times smarter than Bush? “
If we judge your intelligence in the same way that you judge others, than you could not be. In your case I only know your postings with their flaws. In the case of the president, I have the great economy, the low unemployment, and the winning of two wars in record time to weigh against a few mistakes in his English.
TT: Oh.
The worst president in history.
Sigh. Be it Madison, Grant, Garfield, Taft, Wilson, Harding, Coolidge, Hoover, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush W.
Whoever’s the current standing president is always the “worst in history”.
BTW, notice the increasing frequency of “worst” nominations in the above list, particularly over the last century.
Anyway, if anyone here has a better plan, RUN FOR OFFICE. Don’t sit around and fight like little kids in a sandbox. Be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
Yeah. Relentless. Tech forum. Whatever.
Once.
I love Al Gore. He’s so cute! Nice butt too!
“And so the kneejerk Republicans come out and attack Gore for no other reason than, well, he’s Al Gore. Nothing substantive. Nothing based on fact. Just a heap of invective based on some “infotainment” they heard on Faux Noise.”
Actually I have seen people mention his own quotes about the automobile, his hypocrisy of demanding everyone be ‘more green’ while he uses far more of the same energy than the average American. None of this is from Fox News or Rush Limbaugh, they are facts.
“How tragic it must be to still cling to the notion that the election of George W. Bush – ironically one of the few humans on the planet who is an argument against the theory of evolution – in 2000 and 2004 was a positive selection for Republicans, America, the Western Hemisphere or indeed the world in general.”
It looks like it is you who are not using facts. Throwing out insults does not compensate for facts. I believe he was a good president for Republicans and Americans. History will show that the Middle East wars were the smart thing to do. The revolutionary war was an unpopular idea as well, yet I don’t think many would say it was a bad decision now.
“…or manage to turn the routine replacement of some US District Attorneys into a political quagmire that keeps the headline writers busy for a few months, this is the presidency for you.”
You blame the president for this? He had nothing to do with it being in the papers every day, that was the Democrats in congress and the news media. This is a nothing story. Bill Clinton fired ALL of the attorneys and there was no story there. Furthermore, the ones Bush dismissed were the ones HE hired.
OMG!! THIS IS HILLARIOUS!!!
A must see video about a cat, no tricks.
With three monitors he must be running a Mac Pro, no? A MBP would only run one external monitor as would a Mac Mini. Even a Mac Pro must have a second graphics card. Pretty cool.
Regarding the comments about Al Gore’s use of energy, the use of any individual may be symbolic but it is a fraction of a drop in a bucket as far as the country’s use of energy is concerned. It’s a curious argument that you can ignore the factual truth or falsehood of what someone says based on some particular personal action that can be dredged up. I mean, if it came out that Einstein couldn’t balance his checkbook would you trash the theories of special and general relativity?
Einstein and his checkbook are not aligned with political entities that seek to stop capitalistic behavior. Besides, he couldn’t wipe his butt right.
That’s kinda’ trashy, no?
Gore is on the board of Apple ?*!&@##!! I’m switching back to M$.
Gore’s personal use may be insignificant, but he demagogues that the rest of “us” (him not included, obviously) should decrease out dependence on fossil fuels. Meanwhile, he burns a sh*tload, he lives off the cash from investments in petroleum producers, and he acts as if he sees things that others don’t.
He doesn’t even acknowledge his own over-use. That’s why he’s a fraud. No matter how people may want to hold up a foil (a la Bush) to Gore, Gore’s behavior speaks for itself. He is full of words, but acts against his own mantra.
DEMAGOGUE.
It doesn’t matter if someone on the opposing team is worse or [pick your negative adjective]. Stay on topic– discuss each in its own time. Gore is not honest in his approach to this topic he supposedly holds so dear.
Al Gore… liberal, hypocrite… blah, blah, blah…
George Bush… conservative, liar… blah, blah, blah….
they’re politicians, guys n’ gals. whaddya ‘spect? no matter who’s in power somebodys gonna get screwed… and it usually people like us. so quitcher bitchin’.
the revelent question in this particular case is… what what sort of PowerMac (G5 or Intel) is running those screens and what is the rigs config? that’s what i wanna know.
“The current NeoCons (and their tail, the Republican Party) are fascists in all but name. As Hitler said, “Fascism is an alliance between government and industry.” Sound left wing to you?”
No, you are wrong. Hitler was a Fascist, and a member of the Nazi party. What does the word Nazi mean? It means National Socialist. Socialism is a left-wing ideology.
Now, I am not saying Democrats are Fascists, I am just pointing out that it is a far left position, not a far right position.
Regarding the comments about Al Gore’s use of energy, the use of any individual may be symbolic but it is a fraction of a drop in a bucket as far as the country’s use of energy is concerned
FOR THE LAST TIME
1: It’s the waste of materials and electricity by a supposed champion of the enviroment. A hypocrite.
2: He’s setting a bad example by using three power hungry oversized monitors and a Mac Pro which is more power than he really needs.
He wants to stop global warming? He should set a example for all of us to follow and respect by his own actions.
AL GORE IS A PHONEY!!
This is how a good message gets ruined by the messenger. He’s too questionable.
“As I noted, (along with most of the rest of the world). G.W. Bush is obviously stupid.
My own Son observed that when he was 10!”
It’s not at all uncommon for children to parrot back what their parents spew out. We’ve all seen numerous examples of this. Give it some time always, your child just may wake up as he grows up and see the folly in your diatribe.
