Board of Directors member Al Gore’s personal computer setup which features no less than three 30-inch Apple Cinema HD Displays which are each capable of 2560 x 1600 resolution:

Apple doesn’t make a stand-alone 24″ monitor. They have 20″, 23″ and 30″. Their only 24″ screen is inside the 24″ iMac. Thought you should know…

Al Gore buys carbon credits from a company he owns that completely covers his carbon footprint. He even buys credits for all the carbon dioxide he exhales and the methane that comes out the other end. He needs a lot of carbon credits, as you can imagine, but, believe me, he’s got it covered.
I followed his example and started my own carbon trading company. I now live environmentally guilt free.
It is easy being green. When your company is hopelessly in carbon credit bankruptcy, you simply fold it and start another company. After all, the world is full of greenhouse heating scams.

Politics aside (I’m not a Democrat), Al Gore has done great things bringing environmental concerns to many, many people. Of course he’s using energy as all of us do. But I have no doubt he would want more environmentally friendly alternatives, as I and many people would want. I think having him on Apple’s board should have muted the absurd criticisms from environmental groups and I continue to be surprised that it did not. That they would think Gore would stay with a company abusing the environment seems foolish to me. His concern and activism in letting people know what’s going on with climate change should be appreciated separately from any differences in politics people may have with him. I do believe that climate change is one of the most serious issues we have. And bees are dying off? What’s with that? Gore’s done a good job on the environmental front. That, and the envy over his three 30 inch displays, should be the only issue here. Your current president seems to fail in both those areas (environment and 30″ Cinema Displays). Gore doesn’t appear particularly enamored with politics recently.

Look at the impact of home heating- and the fact that most new homes are not built with energy star furnaces, despite the fact that the technology exists to go from 80% efficient to 94% efficient. Pays for itself in 3 years in northern climates. If that doesn’t impress you, consider that folks are allowed to put up little woodburning furnace shacks in their backyards that are 40-50% efficient- even though the technology exists to make them 70-80% efficient. Why aren’t they more efficient? Because they are not subject to REGULATION. In home woodstoves are, incidentally, and today you cannot buy one less than 70% efficient. Thanks, EPA. Kind of off the computer topic though.

1) Yes, there were Al Qua’ida camps in northern Iraq prior to the invasion. However what your “fact” fails to recall – because it inconveniently doesn’t support your position – is that Hussein’s regime had no control of the of that region as it was a) part of the no-fly zone and b) effectively under Kurdish control.
In reality, those camps were operated by groups who have only become Al Qua’ida “franchises” since the “liberation” of Iraq, and Kurdish authorities have long since been beating the drum that Iran and Al Qua’ida will ,from time to time, co-operate with each other in the interests of disrupting the US-led occupation, despite the fact that each views the other as either heretics or apostates.
2) It doesn’t matter how much electricity is consumed by Gore’s home, because he pays extra to purchase electricity generated by renewable means. On that basis, he could use ten times what he currently uses and still generate a smaller carbon footprint than most normal American homes.
3) Firing the attorneys wasn’t the problem. The problem was the justification for the firing turns out to have been wholly disingenuous (seemingly having more to do with political expediency/loyalty than competence) and then your party decided to dig an even bigger hole by abusing provisions in the Patriot Act to bypass Congressional oversight on the appointment of the replacements.

What is all of this partisan name calling about over some retired politician/movie guy and his monitors? Personal attacks ad infinitum because you don’t like his politics or his movies? Man. Just disagree with him & refrain from the schoolboy name calling.
I won’t pick a side in this pissing match, because I love my country… I love it enough to know that this petty partisanship is contributing to our downfall as a country. Everyone from both sides is in the same boat.

Listen to Bill Clinton speak without benefit of a writer. Those are complete sentences he uses, and they demonstrate and understanding of what he’s talking about. Bill Clinton never said anything like “Is our children learning?” or demonstrated nearly two years after a major event that he still didn’t understand it:

Add THOSE monitors (some of them energy using CRTs to the mix and that’s a LOT of greenhouse gas!

Air America is the perfect example that the country is right-leaning, not left-leaning. Conservative talk radio hosts have never been bigger in the country, yet Air America is out of business. Not even in San Francisco, the bastion of “liberalism” did Air America do anything. Heck, Michael Savage, the “right wing nut case,” is #1 on the dial there.
So, the “liberals” who claim to be for individual freedoms have become the fascists they claim the Republicans are. Or is it that the one-world socialists have always infiltrated the liberals and used them to get to where they are today. All I can say is beware where this is taking our country. Gore wiped his fat sorry ass with the Kyoto Initiative.
Ah, I forgot… each of those 30-inch Apple Cinema HD Display consume 150 watts of energy per hour, the same as the most consuming home light bulb offered in the market. In all, this socialist moron (who lives like a rich MTF and wastes energy like the Sha of Persia) is consuming 450 watts of energy per hour, or 3.600 watts per day trying to impress and convince all of us that his cluttered-paper yard desk somehow will benefit from his environmental energy saving approach of powering 3 massive monitors capable of consuming the same energy as a hospital operating room.
