“Apple Computer on Monday released to developers the first pre-release builds of Mac OS X 10.4.8, a maintenance and bug fix update for its Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger operating system that is currently under development,” AppleInsider reports. “In addition to improving the stability and performance of Tiger, sources say Apple will target specific enhancements towards AFP, DVD Player, iCal, iPhoto, Mail and Safari.”
AppleInsider reports, “Builds of Mac OS X 10.4.8 Update were released for Macs with both Intel (build 8L2108) and PowerPC (build 8L108) processors, sources said.”

But what about 10.4.9?
First?
10.4.8???
is it come with standalone update just like 10.4.7?
I have issues with fans running wild sometimes on my dual G5.
DVD player is also an issue.
Ejecting CD’s and DVD’s needs to be done twice before they really eject.
Hopefully this gets fixed.
10.4.7 was the worst tiger update so far for me. 🙁
Is it possible that Apple will fix the memory leak in Safari before the end of the universe?
Yay! I love point updates.
Mail and iChat hide on startup?
Please, please, please do the following:
1. Update Finder – even XP’s Explorer blows it away
2. Revamp iPhoto (or beg ACD Sytems to bring ACDSee back to the Mac)… can be added to #1 above
3. Build in temperature monitors (Macs run hot!)
its only a .update mpc guy lol

True, true. Maybe one lone voice can resonate across the internet and inspire such awesome updates. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />
Have a good day man.
Guys/Gals,
– this is a “maintenance” update, so don’t expect any new/revamped features.
– Safari has _many_ memory leaks, and they continue to track more down all the time
– 10.4.7 is perfectly stable on my machine; care to elaborate on the “problems” you’ve had?
oh, and for freakin’,
Yes, there will be a standalone updater, but this is not released yet, only to developers for testing.
MPC guy – Macs already have built in temperature monitors.
No problems here. Tiger is as stable as XP in a power outage. At least, for me anyway. 2.0Dualie G5, iMacG5, last gen iBook G4, and 366 Clamshell. The clamshell has some artifact issues with the menu bar, but I think that’s due to the small screen.
Funny, I was just thinking about when 10.4.8 would be seeded….
10.4.7 has been the best update I ever received!!! I know many of you have had the opposite results.
>coolfactor: – this is a “maintenance” update, so don’t expect any new/revamped features.
My apologies to you and Apple for expecting stuff for my hard-earned money. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />

Where in system settings or applications can these be accessed? Namely on a MBPro.

Y’know what bug I’d like fixed? Sometimes my cursor gets into a state where it doesn’t want to change shape. So it will get stuck on the “text insert” cursor, for example, when I really need it to look like an arrow.
LordRobin: Yes! I get that all the time, what’s up with it? highly frustrating and v unprofessional-looking.
Count me in on that bug LordRobin, it really get on my nerves too!
