“Following the release of macOS Sierra’s fourth developer beta, Apple has pushed out the third macOS Sierra public beta for non-developer testers,” Zac Hall reports for 9to5Mac.
“”This release should include the new emoji characters introduced to the Mac earlier this week,” Hall reports. “macOS Sierra brings dozens of new features to the Mac including Siri for the first time.”
“Aside from Siri, macOS Sierra enhances the Photos app with new object recognition and search features, a new slideshow tool called Memories, the return of the Places view and more.,” Hall reports. “Later this fall, Apple Pay will also be available on the Mac through Safari.”

MacDailyNews Note: Public beta software has not yet been commercially released by Apple and may contain errors or inaccuracies and may not function as well as commercially released software.
Be sure to back up your Mac using Time Machine before installing beta software. Install only on non-production devices that are not business critical. We strongly recommend installing on a secondary system or drive.
Yeah, the Calendar / Exchange sync issue is fixed!!!
Hopefully it will fix Eye TV (DVR software) – all Macs- and the sleep issue on MacBook Pro. Makes using it more extensively a pain.
Few if any web site pages display properly with Safari in my beta install. They display fine in Chrome and Firefox. What’s up with this?
I used the Yosemite and El Capitan betas with very few, if any issues. Not so with Sierra. Air Mail stopped working and the fact I couldn’t wake my Mac from sleep was the last straw. I had to go back to El Capitan. Very disappointed. I’m sure it will get better.
