I’m about to the point of offering serious money for somebody could do it.”
“I’m now getting deluged with e-mail from people who have found for me a program iCal to Sidekick. I have that program, and it is a program that goes back to 2002. People are sending me the web address for VersionTracker. It’s a great website out there to get the latest version of software for the Mac OS or for anything else, and I have iCal to Sidekick. But the Mac OS has been, you know, revved and upgraded many times since iCal to Sidekick came out in December of 2002 — and the author, the lazy bum author of iCal the Sidekick, has not revved his program. It’s still a beta that came out in December 2002. Now, it did work for a while. It worked for a while, but all of a sudden the Mac OS gets updated and now dates… It’s really… I really don’t want to spend all this time talking because most people don’t know what I’m talking about here,” Limbaugh said.
“I’ll just tell you this: All-day events, whatever calendar I have — home, work, moon phase, whatever — if I list it as an all-day event like holidays or listed all day events rather than a specific start ask stop time all day events show up on totally inaccurate dates that make no sense. Christmas is on February 3rd, you know, and so I’ve been trying to get a new rev of this. There’s no new rev. There may be now that I’m publicly whining about it, but there hasn’t been up till now. So this rev hasn’t been done. I’ve been seeking programmers for a price to commission my own program. I’m just mentioned all this because this is a simple one, and look how difficult it is to make work,” Limbaugh said.

The reason they were discussing it was the caller was a computer programer who callled in to discuss how hard it would be to “hack” into the voting machines and change the code and thus the votiong results; something alot of liberals have been discussing since the election. Limbaugh then went on to discuss the difficulty of writing code by citing his sidekick example….

Limbaugh has been a serious advocate of the Mac platform for years, routinely championing it (without compensation) on his show. He used to relay stories of his repeated attempts to pitch Apple, but said it was “not interested.”
I have not listened to him in a couple of years on a regular basis, so I don’t know how much — if at all — he has been mentioning it.

I know. This long prior to Kerry, though. IIRC, the Apple line was something to the effect that it did not want a “political” spokesperson, which I certainly can understand. Again, IIRC, Limbaugh’s take was Apple did not want a “right” political spokesperson.
To his credit (at least at the time) he still opined heavily in favor of Apple/MacOS, despite Apple’s apparent cold shoulder.
I remember he was a passionate advocate for the platform at a time when the ship was sinking after Big Business had long settled on WinTel.
Like him/his politics or not, he was very outspoken on MacOS, even though Apple was in some of its darkest days. And he never wavered or backtracked on his commitment to the Mac.
Well I guess the ying yang symbol principle applies everywhere. In the black half of the symbol there is a small circle of white, which in this case represents the fact that Rush is an Apple advocate.

Ah it may be difficult to hack e-voting but the problem is it is NOT impossible.
Also and more worrisome is who say’s it has to be a hack to effect the voting. What ‘IF” the maker of these voting machines places a “VIRI” like app or firmware option that can be turned off or removed at a whim when it is tested by third parties. Then it is NOT a hack..but a fix.
This is NOT impossbile either…and I’ve yet to hear any reasonable explination why this will or would not happen.

Al Gore did not invent the Internet, but never claimed so either. What he says he claimed, and what is reasonably true, is that he was the one most instrumental in making the Internet what it is today. As chairman of the Senate committee that handled technology (I forget its name), he pushed for legislation that expanded DARPAnet (the original Internet) way beyond its very limited university and research uses. Without him, only a few folks would be using the Internet today, the ones (like me) who used it in the late 70s and 80s. (Yes, there was E-mail, news, and FTP back then but not the world wide web.)
Gore was also responsible for getting the government (the NSF) OUT of the Internet backbone business and allowing private enterprise to expand the size and bandwidth of the current system. As a reward for his good work in this area, Gore has largely suffered, smeared with negative political charges.

Being a conservative from a blue county in a blue state, I know a lot about the hate that liberals feel for those that don’t agree with them. Owning a TV only reinforces my knowledge. I was very happy to see the election pass, and was almost hoping that Kerry would win, since the whining resultant after Bush’s win is predictable and wearing, and, indeed, there isn’t that much difference to be had no matter who is president. However, it is worth bearing the whining to put off the success of Rather, Springsteen, Kennedy, Moore et. al. for another four years.

i cant find the link to a little test done by some conservative who wore a Kerry/Edwards t shirt around a red county and a Bush/Cheney tee around downtown NY. So our dependance on oil…not important. Our envirionment…God will take care of that soon enough, so why worry. So they are NOT on God’s side and there for by default they are on Satan’s side, and by making war on them you get one of two things..maybe both. A: God is impressed with your efforts to fight Satan and B: The End Times is spead up a bit. Or all of the above.
Our economy, environment, oil dependancy, employment, the health care MESS and the ridiculass cost of pharmacuticals, the retirement dilema..etc, etc, etc..things that can be plainly seen as real problems do not in fact matter. I hesitated to add to this discussion but my contempt for ignorance will not allow me to sit idley by while the “blue state” liberals continue to divide and degrade this great nation. While we managed to emerge victorious in this last election, despite the most concerted and well-funded propaganda machine since the NSDAP, the hatred will continue to breed. They have pitted every conceivable group against one another (blacks and whites, poor and wealthy, Christians and non-believers, gays and straights, and now, once again North and South) to further the reign of liberal ideology. For now, this effort failed but it is by no means over. Just listen to them howl. It is a time to savour, however, like the war in the Middle East, we must fight it just as vigorously.
Sadly, our friend in NYC, like his fellow “blue state” liberals, does not understand the nature of the war we are now fighting as a result of 9/11 (ironically). The propaganda has had a tremendous impact. Sadly, the liberals in this country will continue to denounce the very people who are providing them the “freedoms” they so proudly bemoan. It seems that many people who want Democrats in power (or at least don’t want Republicans there) like to try to get traction from the issue of race, pointing to superficial facts that tend to cast Republicans in a poor light. But upon a deeper look at the issue, charges of bigotry just don’t hold up.
At the core of today’s Republican party is the belief that people have a great potential to do and be great, whatever walk of life they are in – and that potential is greater when unfettered by the bonds of bureaucracy and government intrusions into their lives. This belief applies to all humans, regardless of race or nationality – hence the lack of Republican proposals for (and opposition to) handouts, gimmees, or partiality to one race over another.

Osama bin Laden now has religious approval to use a nuclear device against Americans, says the former head of the CIA unit charged with tracking down the Saudi terrorist. The former agent, Michael Scheuer, speaks to Steve Kroft in his first television interview without disguise to be broadcast on 60 MINUTES Sunday, Nov. 14 (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Scheuer was until recently known as the “anonymous” author of two books critical of the West’s response to bin Laden and al Qaeda, the most recent of which is titled Imperial Hubris: Why the West is Losing the War on Terror. No one in the West knows more about the Qaeda leader than Scheuer, who has tracked him since the mid-1980s. The CIA allowed him to write the books provided he remain anonymous, but now is allowing him to reveal himself for the first time on Sunday’s broadcast; he formally leaves the Agency today (12).
Even if bin Laden had a nuclear weapon, he probably wouldn’t have used it for a lack of proper religious authority – authority he has now. “[Bin Laden] secured from a Saudi sheik…a rather long treatise on the possibility of using nuclear weapons against the Americans,” says Scheuer. “[The treatise] found that he was perfectly within his rights to use them. Muslims argue that the United States is responsible for millions of dead Muslims around the world, so reciprocity would mean you could kill millions of Americans,” Scheuer tells Kroft.
Scheuer says bin Laden was criticized by some Muslims for the 9/11 attack because he killed so many people without enough warning and before offering to help convert them to Islam. But now bin Laden has addressed the American people and given fair warning. “They’re intention is to end the war as soon as they can and to ratchet up the pain for the Americans until we get out of their region….If they acquire the weapon, they will use it, whether it’s chemical, biological or some sort of nuclear weapon,” says Scheuer.
As the head of the CIA unit charged with tracking bin Laden from 1996 to 1999, Scheuer says he never had enough people to do the job right. He blames former CIA Director George Tenet. “One of the questions that should have been asked of Mr. Tenet was why were there always enough people for the public relations office, for the academic outreach office, for the diversity and multi-cultural office? I might be more articulate than most, but the 51% who voted for Bush are not mostly uninformed neo-con religious Rush loving hicks, as of course the losing side is not mainly America hating UN loving NPR addicted Mike Moore fans. Many of us would have voted for another Democrat (Lieberman in my case, and possibly Gephardt if his face didn’t get so red). I think most Republicans think that the basic domestic Democratic welfare plank, including jobs, health care, etc. is exactly right, and that improvements can be made. But we differ greatly on how to do that, and most Republicans do not trust government to allocate efficiently or wisely. The commentator was comparing what the republicans promise in their family values speech during election season, with what was delivered. I can’t remember all of it, but the gist was this:
you were promised a ban on abortion. you got a war in iraq.
you were promised “no child left behind” you got a reduction in actual dollars to schools
you were promised a stronger economy. you got outsourced job tax breaks for corporations
you were promised prayer in school, you got tax cuts for the rich.
I found it interesting and a good point about what politicians say and what they actually do.
Same goes on the other side. I don’t feel like typing it out, but others have made mention of broken promises of the liberal/democrats.

Setting aside that “conservative Christians” are more likely to be true Christ followers in word and deed than anyone else on the planet, let’s look at the twisted logic underlying the typical “End Times” thinking amongst secularists. A discussion on this very topic happened a few weeks ago on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher where guest David Cross stated condescendingly that Bush “takes the Bible literally”, and “he wants to fulfill Revelation” with his war on Muslims. Maher nodded approvingly while the crowd applauded approvingly.
Let’s look at this charge for a moment. Presumably, Cross and his like-minded anti-evangelical friends think that somehow, by America coming to its own (and Israel’s) defense in the middle east, Bush intends to preciptate the Second Coming. If this is the case, I submit that he is going about his prophesy-fulfilling efforts all wrong.
Charles Krauthammer recently presented the eminently logical theory that Kerry most likely had a secret plan for “bringing along the allies” to help with the war in Iraq in return for cutting Israel loose. Now, if I were a President who had the power to presumptuously rush the world toward the events depicted in the prophesies of Revelation, there would be no better way to do that than for me to abandon the Jews in Israel. Right now, we’re down to just a few countries which will stand by that embattled nation. Of these, only the US is in a position to truly protect Israel from its enemies.

As followers of Biblical prophesy know, the “Antichrist” of Revelation will be a leader of a future (southeastern?) European confederation who rises to prominence because he makes an amazingly daring protection treaty with Israel. But why would he need to come to Israel’s rescue while America is doing that job?
If you believe in a literal interpretation of Revelation, you have to believe that as long as the United States sticks with the current policy of protecting Israel, the “Antichrist” of prophesy can never find the fertile geopolitical ground required to rise to power. This is why it is so ironic that secularists in Hollywood and the liberal media think that W sees himself on a mission from God to “fulfill Revelation” when in fact, he is currently pursuing a policy that does the precise opposite.
Put another way, if Liberals fear politicians who might “fulfill Revelation” they should avoid the John Kerrys of the world like the plague.
