Apple TV+ has the highest-rated quality content of any streaming service

Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has the highest average IMDb score for its streaming library (7.01/10), for the 3rd year running (2021,2022, 2024), according to a report from Self.

Self:

While Netflix sat as the king of content in previous iterations of this study, this research shows that Amazon’s Prime Video has surpassed it in terms of library size. For $8.99 per month, Prime Video will give you access to 13,827 rated movies and TV shows — more than double that of Netflix (6,471).

It should be noted that not all of Netflix’s content is rated. However, value for money shouldn’t be judged by the pure quantity of content available to viewers: it needs to factor in the quality of titles users are able to stream.

To determine which streaming platform offers the most, and best content for families and children the analysis used content suitable for ages 7 (TV-Y7/PG/etc) and below. Currently, the streaming service with the highest-quality family content is Apple TV+ (7.3/10) with shows like ‘Fraggle Rock’ and ‘Charlie Brown’ suitable for younger audiences.

MacDailyNews Take: There’s plenty of quantity now on Apple TV+ to occupy most people for long stretches of time with the added bonus that most everything on Apple TV+ is very high quality fare. It’s not crammed full of fuller like most other streamers who pad their libraries.

“Apple TV+’s quality over quantity approach to streaming is paying off with tastemakers as it’s quickly become a critical darling.” – MacDailyNews, March 29, 2022

CODA‘s Best Picture win is “a huge boon for Apple TV+ and vindication of Apple’s quality over quantity launch strategy. As the quantity of award-winning features and series piles up, so too will Apple TV+ subscribers.” – MacDailyNews, March 25, 2022

  1. Why would you title the article that based on data that only shows an average?
That’s like saying a small school with a few exceptional students is higher rated than a large school with a larger number of such students but averaged lower due to a significant number of only above average students.
