iPhone X delivery dates slip minutes after preorders begin

Did you get yours?

We did! Each with a November 3rd delivery date, one week away, iPhone X’s official launch day. But, those delivery dates didn’t last for long – just a few minutes!

Apple’s iPhone X became available today at 12:01 am PDT / 3:01 am EDT. The iPhone X is available in Silver and Space Gray finishes in 64GB or 256GB storage capacities. The 64GB versions are priced at $999 and the 256GB models are $1,149.

During the preorder process, Apple performed carrier checks for our unlocked iPhone X models (Verizon). This process took a few extra precious seconds, but went off without a hitch and thankfully did not delay delivery on our orders.

Within minutes, by 12:10 am PDT, iPhone X delivery dates for both colors (Silver and Space Gray) and both capacities (64GB and 256GB) slipped to “1-2 weeks.”

By 12:17 am PDT, all delivery dates for iPhone X units slipped to “2-3 weeks.”

Update: By 12:28 am PDT, all delivery dates for iPhone X units slipped to “4-5 weeks.”

Update: By 1:44 am PDT all delivery dates for iPhone X units slipped to “5-6 weeks.”

Those customers who haven’t preordered can still brave Apple Stores, third-party retailers (Best Buy, Target, et.), and carrier stores in order to try to get their iPhone X on November 3rd.

  1. ATT process was great! Got in the queue immediately at 12:00:01am. Was in the cue roughly 15 minutes and successfully ordered with a November 3rd delivery date. Woo hoo!!

  2. I relied on the Apple Store app and found it incredibly frustrating. It wouldn’t load until 12:04 for me, kept closing and reopening. Yeah, that wasn’t a pleasant surprise. Then when I succeeded in entering my order, the app refused to take my billing address. Forced me to enter it manually, even though the one that I have on file has not changed and was displayed correctly to begin with. It took my manual entry (despite it being identical to what was already there) and then balked at the shipping address, which was IDENTICAL. So I had to re-enter that manually too. Also, the payment method itself was confusing because there was no indication that I had to go to the “Bag” tab at the bottom to continue once I’d entered my item details. Any online purchase app takes you to “check out” or “payment” next but the Apple Store app didn’t and this just added to my frustration and anxiety. Shame on you, Apple. How can you be so technologically advanced in every other way but leave your ordering process in such a lame position?

  3. 3AM rolled around and my 7plus showed the store as busy… 3:05, same thing, 3:10… now I’m getting nervous as refreshing on phone and MBP yielded no results. At 3:15 I decided to get off of my wifi connection at my house and went to LTE. BAM! Sore came up and completed upgrade in seconds. I had been able to do the pre approval, the previous day, through the Apple store with their upgrade plan so I was ready I made the 2-3 week wave. Wondering why my LTE connection was so much more reliable that my home wifi…
