“What’s the most you’ve ever spent with Apple Pay? I’ll bet it’s nowhere near as much as $1 million,” Killian Bell reports for Cult of Mac. That’s how much one user spent to claim a 1964 Aston Martin DB5 that was recently auctioned off through Coys of Kensington.”
“The largest Apple Pay transaction to date could well be a vintage Aston Martin DB5 — the first historic vehicle to be sold through social media,” Bell reports. “The Vero app for iPhone was used to place bids on the car, which had been fully restored with a new engine, gearbox, and more.”
Bell reports, “The winning bid was £825,000 (just over $1 million), and the buyer paid with Apple Pay, according to a report from Columnm, which says the car ‘will remain the highest selling ‘in-app’ purchase via a social media platform for a little bit longer.'”

MacDailyNews Take: Now, there’s a gorgeous car!
But does it have CarPlay?
But did he use his watch ?
No to the AW. He found it to be not a necessary purchase. He needed to put it toward the car.
I wonder with what credit card that has a $1 million limit? American Express Platinum?😍
Amex Black.
It could have been a debit card backed by > $1m in the bank account
Maybe Timothy Cook will use Apple Pay to buy a company for Apple. That would be new record for Apple Pay.
Most likely an Apple employee….
Mr. Ive maybe? Sure seems like something he would buy.
That’s crazy… I think Apple makes something like 15¢ for a $100 purchase, so Apple “cut” for $1M is $1500?
