Adele’s reps push for $30 million pact with Apple as Rihanna inks $25 million sponsorship deal with Samsung

“South Korean electronics giant Samsung has reached an unprecedented $25 million deal to sponsor Rihanna’s upcoming album and tour,” Claire Atkinson reports for The New York Post.

“Rihanna, known for hit songs such as ‘Umbrella’ and ‘Rude Boy,’ is signed to Roc Nation, run by rap mogul Jay Z, who has had a long and profitable relationship with Samsung,” Atkinson reports. “The Rihanna deal follows seven months of talks and is the biggest music-marketing tie-up in recent memory.”

“The news comes just a day after The Post reported exclusively that representatives of Adele, the 27-year-old UK pop star, are pushing Apple — and perhaps other companies — for a $30 million commitment to back her upcoming album and an as-yet announced world tour,” Atkinson reports. “Samsung wants to use Rihanna to help promote its Galaxy line of products and wants exclusive use of Rihanna-related video content to release via its Milk Music radio service, sources said.”

    1. Noooooo, for the love of god, no more Adele.
Last time that woman had an album out, my roommate played one particular song so many times (you know the one), I was getting ready to kill him.

        1. Especially since when tats go out of fashion, like Sanskrit aphorisms or Maxwell’s equations, one must return to the parlour for removal and then suffer the injection of new ink. With clothing, one need not suffer quite the same inconvenience.

  1. Rihanna could, were she so inclined, make me use a Samsung and smile while doing it. I mean, were she so inclined. As far as spokespersons go. Adele, not so much. Rihanna could, were she to truly make an effort, get me to endorse Bernie Sanders for President. It’s probably lucky for me she’s not interested in testing this.

All joking aside, ya ever notice how no one seems to care how much money these people make but if some CEO gets a 30 million dollar salary etc. some people act like he’s feeding puppies to Satan?

    1. On a more serious note, did it occur to you that they’re ALL a-holes? And we pay for this behavior.

I can agree with your Rihanna sentiments… pre-tattoos. Bernie, snowball’s chance in hell, but if nominated, I’m voting for him. 🙂
