MacDailyNews Take: For the delivery alone, Prime is a good deal even at $99. If you use Amazon, this Friday’s your chance.

    1. If you have more than one person in your household, you might be able to gift a subscription and get the special rate. Gift subscriptions can be scheduled to start on a specific date up to a year in advance, as I recall. I did this when the Prime cost went from $79 to $99 a while back.

  1. With many purchases over $25 having free shipping (albeit slower), it takes a lot of sub $25 purchases to make up $99 (or even $79).

In Canada the only extra perk we get with prime other than the free shipping is unlimited cloud photo storage. Big whoop!

      1. Agreed! Most of the stuff available on the USA Amazon site isn’t even available in Canada. And they want $99 bucks for a lame membership. Target thought we were just a bunch of dumb smucks. They got their ass kicked and went home crying to their mama. Amazon and others should take note of this great, intelligent, and affluent market that’s right on their doorsteps.

  2. “Amazon Inc. has been adding offers and services to attract subscribers to its Prime club”

Amazon is becoming more and more like AOL back when they charged a premium price because they thought all their “extra services” were worth charging more for.

  3. Of course this has nothing to do with the end of the calendar quarter in one week. Amazon would never pull a stunt to goose their earnings report…prime day sale last June…cough…cough.

  4. You get more then just delivery of course, you get their streaming service too.. if you already have Netflix, then this adds to the library of viewing options, because of course, each has their exclusives..

Still you have to order things pretty routinely from there to even get $67 worth of service.. Course probably just several items at 2 day delivery you’d get your money’s worth, and then factor in the $8 a month you might not be spending on Netflix if you suspend that for the year..

    1. Just because he’s short, and ambitious, and sets high standards for his workers, you demote his esteem. Yet he remains an entrepreneur that has done more good than harm, in a capitalist playground that has seen, usually, the reverse.
