Apple Watch preorders began at 12:01am PDT on April 10th.
We got our orders in (Apple Watch Sport models in 42mm Silver) by 12:03am (shipping date “Delivers 4/24-5/8”) using the Apple Store app on iPad (favorited). Our preferred Apple Watch combination wasn’t among the preorder configs (42mm Sport with Silver Case with 42mm Black Sport Band), so Apple got us for an extra $49 per Watch (we ordered our stock launch combination with the White Sport Bands, which will never get used).
We are already getting reports that some Apple Watch models (42mm Apple Watch Sport Space Gray with 42mm Black Sport Band, for one – an Apple preorder config.) have sold out, with shipping slipping into 4-6 weeks territory (late May) a mere ten minutes after pre-orders began.
So, did you get your Apple Watch preorder(s) placed?
Frankly, I’m a little pissed off. I got up at 2am, ordered the watch via the Apple Store app on my iPhone using apple pay at 2:02amCST, and received my email confirmation at 2:05am. But, the estimated ship date is JUNE on the email. WTF.
I’m hoping, much like the iphone6, that ship dates are incorrect. We shall see.

Just a thought here… exactly how many people could POSSIBLY be ordering a 42mm Stainless Steel in Space Black before my order went through? A few hundred? Maybe a thousand?
It seems like most folks are ordering the Apple Watch Sport, not the most expensive Apple Watch. The $1099 watch could not possibly have ‘sold out’ in 2 minutes unless the quantities were extremely constrained. Like fewer than a thousand.

Delivery is now June! I will wait to order it.

I did not pre-order. Still not feeling a watch, yet. I want to go to the store and play with one first.
I debated whether or not to order after 3 a.m. and I was up at the time, but simply because of color choice I waited until now to order. Just ordered at 9:45 am EDT as I’m not in a crazed hurry. June delivery but system hasn’t updated estimated ship date as of yet. I booked an appointment at the Apple Store here for 11 am simply to view the watch I ordered and to view the others. June is a heck of a long wait; i hope that Apple will update orders to a more rational shipping period for the others that are anxious to receive theirs. Watch stainless steel Midnight Blue modern buckle. Looks gorgeous on line.
was hitting the refresh buutton on my iphone 6 plus. store came online for me at 2:02 central time. picked my watch, apple sport with black band and hit apple pay. done.
april 24-may 8 delivery. although my iphone 6 plus had same 2 week window and was delivered on release day. i suspect the watch will also deliver on release day of april 24. goodie goodie gum drops
Couldn’t even get onto the Apple Store using the iPhone app or the Web at 12:30 AM (EDT). Went to bed and ordered at 9 AM today. Ordered a Sport 42mm with black band, and delivery is cited as just “June”. Whoa…either Apple has a serious shortage or a serious hit on their hands. I’m guessing the latter, because they’ve certainly had enough time to build up an inventory.

Couldn’t get into the store till 12:10!! Finally got in and now have to wait for 4-6 weeks for my watch

Attention Watch Edition customers.
If you ordered the Watch Edition model and got a July or later delivery date, call the number on the email that you received and tell them that the current delivery date shown on their web site is June. They will, or at least in my case, adjust the delivery to June or earlier. FYI – The phone number in that email goes directly to an Watch staff member. She was very courteous and prompt.

MDN’s poll indicated that 277 would pre-order Apple Watch on April 10. already in just two hours of this open thread, 100 have said they did so. Trolls must have conniption fits, unable to one-star so many 🙂
I used my iPhone 6 and ApplePay. I ordered a 38mm Black Stainless Steel watch with the link band With AppleCare at 2:03 am CDT. My confirmation email came at 2:05 am and states 4-6 weeks delivery-May 13 – May 27. I also ordered a black sport band and that arrives Apr 29 – May 12. At least I’ll have something to hold on to.
i have a friend and she is getting 2 of the EDITION. wish i could do that, but i did order a stainless, so so sweet.

I had a Stainless 42mm with Link Bracelet favourited and ready to go. Order completed at 12:02 PT and email at 12:03 with shipping date of 13 – 26 May. Amazed that the entire stock was gone in those 2 minutes.

Ordered the 42mm Apple Watch Sport Blue Band AND the 42mm Milanese Loop band at approximately 4:15AM my time (went on sale at 4:01AM my time). Sport band for exercising and Milanese Loop band for formal events or a simple night out. Ships April 24th-May 8th.
Bumber, I ordered at 12:03 A.M. pdt. My SS 42 w/ black sport band lists 4/24 – 5/8. Still no shipping information.
Friend ordered same with white sport band and he is wearing his. Received Friday morning. Hopping for a delivery date prior to May 8!
