“No sooner was OS X Yosemite released in October before Mac users started to complain of Wi-Fi problems with the new release,” Peter Cohen reports for iMore. “OS X 10.10.1 is currently in development and testing, but until then, what are you to do with Wi-Fi that isn’t working right? Here’s one possible fix until Apple works out the problems.”
“Many users aren’t having any Wi-Fi problems with Yosemite, but some are,” Cohen reports. “And the problems are maddening. Wi-Fi connections drop, or spontaneously stop working.”
“Word of one interim fix comes from reader Evan H. Katz, who recently talked with Apple’s own tech support about the problems he’s been having with Wi-Fi,” Cohen reports. “The solution comes from modifying the Network system preferences.”

Apple’s QA is fast going the way of Microsoft. Way too many bugs recently, both iOS and OSX – the stuff we used make of other companies doing. They aren’t minor issues, either.
They’ve arrived. They now have as many versions of the iPad as Microsoft had of Windows 7. 🙂
Everything is rushed and half-finished now that Apple is committed to knocking out a new version of OS X every 12 months. It’s crazy.
There has always been a major bug in just about every release. Not everything can be caught. I used Yosemite since June and never had any problems. I don’t think it has anything to do with the rushed releases.
I’m having wifi dropouts and misleading dialog boxes suddenly from my AT&T data on my iPad. I have not upgraded to IOS 8 nor am I running Yosemite. This was not an issue before, so it’s not at my end or my settings that have changed. The timing is odd.
I had this issue with my MacBook Pro while using the beta.
It was so bad I finally did every test and reset I could think of.
I believe it was the SMC that finally fixed it, although it might have been the PRAM (I did both pretty close together and can’t remember which one affected it).
My wi-fi was stopping a few minutes after rebooting every time. I removed the OneDrive app, and it now works like a champ. Remove everything Microsoft and life goes smoothly!
