Rumor: First photo of supposed ‘iPhone 6’ front panel surfaces

AppleInsider reports, “A single photo of what appears to be a larger than normal iPhone front panel assembly showed up on Chinese microblogging website Sina Weibo on Tuesday, offering what could be the first look at Apple’s next-generation handset.”:

“While the image is not of the highest quality, it looks as though someone is holding a black iPhone 5s next to an oversized front panel supposedly belonging to Apple’s next-gen iPhone 6,” AppleInsider reports. “The somewhat suspect photo was posted to Sina Weibo by user jiezhixc (via iPhon.fr).”

AppleInsider reports, “Taking a closer look, there is an immediately noticeable difference between the two front faces and it seems as though the iPhone 5s could fit width-wise into the purported iPhone 6 screen’s cutout without much trouble.”

  1. To me the home button appears to be scaled up in size from the 5s, which would be a sure sign that it’s not legit. To keep people from comparing the two they would want to darken out the home button of the black 5s, which is exactly what you’ve got here.

So I say it’s an Apple fake. A bit of red meat to keep us from starving.

One thing I’ve learned from Apple over the years, and especially the last few: the leaks come from them. Like 99% of them.

    1. My thought precisely, why would you do that? Anyway I hope this is not legit because simply reworking a long in the tooth existing design with those outdated overhangs up to a new size is hardly a stunning design decision in my book. Suggests a lack of invention the last thing they need to suggest.

  2. I am just wondering what’s wrong with the person who wrote this.

Unless the picture posted was seriously enhanced, it’s certainly not close to being as bad as the reviewer implied.
