New iPad 3 internal replacement part appears, hints major redesign

“As any new Apple product launch gets nearer, the frequency of leaks of supposed parts, and components increases,” Cydia Blog reports. “A new replacement part for iPad 3 Microphone Mic Flex Cable Ribbon has just been surfaced on a Chinese iPhone parts reseller website, TVC-Mall.”

“The new part, when compared with iPad 2, shows a different arrangement in internal circuitry, hinting a major re-design,” Cydia Blog reports. “The existence of a these parts does not necessarily means that it will make its way into the final iPad 3 model.”

Cydia Blog reports, “Manufacturers are often asked to develop multiple versions of parts to test different possible designs and many of them don’t make it past the Apple’s research lab.”

        1. It’s also good for getting “hits” to a web site reporting such rumors. That’s why Apple-related rumors are almost always spun as “major change.” A modified non-critical part (a “Microphone Mic Flex Cable Ribbon”?) is NOT “hinting a major re-design.” It’s just a stupid cable for the microphone.

          But who wants to read a “boring” rumor…?

          If something is technically in the realm of possibility, one of these blogs will report it as an BIG Apple rumor from an “inside” source, just to get more hits. They don’t consider if their speculation is actually viable, that it even makes sense from Apple’s business perspective.

          Now, if someone gets a hold of the replacement part for the holographic projector, I’m all ears… 🙂
