Samsung certifies shameless Apple Smart Cover knockoff for their pretend iPads

“Anymode Corp. is in the business of designing, manufacturing and selling a blatant Smart Cover rip-off,” Christian Zibreg reports for 9to5Mac.

“Conveniently dubbed the Smart Case – obviously because Apple trademarked it – the accessory comes in five pastel color choices. It too can prop a tablet upwards and it folds like Apple’s accessory as well,” Zibreg reports. “The Smart Case is designed exclusively for Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 – and not by a coincidence, warns our reader Jun.”

Zibreg reports, “Apparently Sang-yong Kim, the Anymode CEO, was ‘born in Samsung family.’ …Furthermore, reader Jun explains, Anymode is selling its products in Samsung’s A/S center all over Korea. One final thing: Samsung has apparently certified the Smart Case.”

MacDailyNews Take: Obviously, it’s completely different: It’s called “Smart Case,” not “Smart Cover.” How is innovative Samsung supposed to innovate with everyone breathing down their scheming, cheating, thieving necks?

  1. To workaround any patent infringement issues they probably used velcro to attach it.
Im sure the ads will tout the NASA TECHNOLOGY DESIGNED FOR OUTER SPACE.

  2. I’m not a lawyer, but…..won’t this add more fuel to the litigation flames that Samsung has continually stolen Apple’s ideas and IP? Can’t this be used against them in court?

  3. If any North Korean spies are watching this news, can you ask your “Dear Leader” to get rid of all Samsung executives NOW. I will even send him a iPad2 🙂

  4. you know some fandroid is going to buy one of these….wait. Does anyone own a Tab 10.1?

If there is such a fool and he sees one of these and finally gets one, even if it just sold in Korea, will he get asked if that is the ipad 2?

  5. From my understanding Smart Cover/Case must have magnets in the wee-pad to work.
Samsung by placing magnets in later wee-pads is in breach of patent rights the end go to Jail do not pass Go do not collect $200!
