“Anymode Corp. is in the business of designing, manufacturing and selling a blatant Smart Cover rip-off,” Christian Zibreg reports for 9to5Mac.
“Conveniently dubbed the Smart Case – obviously because Apple trademarked it – the accessory comes in five pastel color choices. It too can prop a tablet upwards and it folds like Apple’s accessory as well,” Zibreg reports. “The Smart Case is designed exclusively for Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 – and not by a coincidence, warns our reader Jun.”
Zibreg reports, “Apparently Sang-yong Kim, the Anymode CEO, was ‘born in Samsung family.’ …Furthermore, reader Jun explains, Anymode is selling its products in Samsung’s A/S center all over Korea. One final thing: Samsung has apparently certified the Smart Case.”

A good question. Doesn’t the iPad have built-in magnets, to help make the connection with the cover really strong? If so, and Samsung went to the extreme of even copying that design detail, Apple’s legal case against Samsung just got even stronger.
It cleverly has a case to attach it. It’s not attached via magnets. Still a copy cat in a big way.

Actually I think it WILL help them move their product. People will be bringing these wannabe tablets to meetings and now they can use the knock-off covers to further enhance the smoke and mirrors iPad knock-off, so they too can look “Apple cool” in meetings and in Starbucks.
Next up? Kim Jong Il, also a relative of the Samsung CEO from the North Woods, will bring to market a decal that closely resembles the Apple logo that users can paste over the Samsung logo n the bottom.
Ahh looks like there is a back piece that snaps on the back of theirs POS. I wonder if they will use that as an argument of being “different” from Apples version?
