Apple recently released their new editing software Final Cut Pro X and Conan’s editors absolutely love it!

MacDailyNews Take: Funny video.
Now, while 99.99% of Conan’s audience wonder “WTF was that?!” might we suggest that a better use of time would have been for his “editors” to RTFM instead of mindlessly trashing something they’ve obviously not properly explored?
You can’t teach old dogs new tricks, but you can laugh at them as they stomp their paws and threaten to turn blue.
(Keep in mind that in previous lives we went from 3/4-inch to 1-inch A/B roll editing — not to mention MII, Betacam SP, Digital Betacam, etc. — to Avid Media Composers to Final Cut Pro, so we know more than a little something about editing and learning new paradigms.)
The fact is that your old FCP is still there. Take some time and give FCP X a chance. Yes, currently there are issues with FCP X and, yes, they will be addressed – hopefully very quickly.
So, been there, done that. Whine, bitch and moan all you want, but we guarantee that the world will move forward regardless.
[Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “krquet” for the heads up.]

This one is a deal breaker. If I wanted iMovie (does the P in FCP now mean pseudosumer??) I would just use iMovie. Now I have to investigate Avid and Premier. Anyone have any thoughts on which is likely to be still in business in a few years? Which will keep my investment in libraries and project data? Is either compatible with Logic?
Nothing’s better than the Video Toaster for Amiga anyways… eat your heart out Final Cut Pro 🙂
Hey dummies who don’t want to use it – DON’T BUY IT! Keep using the previous release of Studio. Save your $300, and as a huge added bonus I don’t have to listen to your sniveling, whimpering, slobbering, sniffing, farting, crying, bitching, whining, and snarfing (Snarf, Snarf!). Why wouldn’t you wait a few weeks and see what the bugs are first, anyway? Dumb dumb dumb.
P.S. – btaylor is a big freaking baby, and his wedding videos, photo montages, retirement videos, and homemade sex videos were already terrible. TRUST ME.
I wonder how many viewers, like me, saw that clip and thought, “Wow, those guys call themselves pros?” As a professional photographer, migrating from Photoshop + iView to Aperture took months of study and practice before I was really fluent. Switching to a new paradigm in a complex workflow is like that. But, these crybabies don’t want to do the work. I don’t doubt that there are issues. But, after just a few days, NOBODY but the developers themselves knows the app well enough to proclaim judgement.
Let me see.. this is how I make my living – and sSo it’s no big deal now that my $6,000 worth of plugins no longer work?
Apple can go ^@$& themselves – I’m finding another platform.
Have any of you seen the new and wonderful “Lion”? It cripples almost ALL of Adobe Pro apps from CS5. Apple is writing software for children now. Will someone write a new pro platform so we all can tell Apple goodbye?? Or better yet KMA sideways?!?
I really like your internet website!! Great, great content! Thanks for generating time and energy to make this happen
