doesn’t seem to fix my 3g reception issues. still suffering with edge. why do some people get upset with other users reporting problems with iphone?
agree with mks1 contacts much faster. 3G in my area has two more bars and I live on the edge of a 3G area.
X, I wouldn’t exactly call my iPhone’s current inability to sync my contacts with my computer to be “minor”.
I can already see RIM’s new ad campaign… “We don’t update software because it works.”
These updates are coming to frequently and are becoming a joke.
Does it allow some sort of boot camp software that allows you to install Android?
@Rimm
So don’t do it idiot.
Wow – even my landline feels snappier!
One less bar for me but the contacts are much more responsive. The overall response of the phone is much more in line with the 2g that I had. Hopefully this update also addressed the mail malfunctions. It will take time to see if it did.
Does this update prevent Batman from using my cell phone for sonar. I really want to one up that fool…
1. Didn’t application updates use to allow an “Update All” selection? I thought it did, but it doesn’t now. Maybe I’m wrong.
@The Other Steve,
Don’t know what the max is, butI currently have 4 pages of apps. Not sure what you’re looking at.
I like that new campaign, works well with “we don’t update software cause we don’t evolve.”
I’m pretty sure it’s 9 pages…
What is the supposed benefit for iPod touch users? Anyone notice any difference?
“Saldin
Does it include the fix for the 3D reception bug?”
holy crap! your iPhone gets 3D? how does it project it?!?
I just updated my iPod Touch and it plays 45s and 78s now. Without the little thimbles.
Dang and if it didn’t just snap out a loaf of whole grain bread too.
Now my iTouch not only opens my garage door but my neighbors, too!
Today after a week’s vacation I was sitting in my office, across the street from City Hall in Philadelphia, in 2 Penn Center, with no 3G bars at all-EDGE only.
This is amusing because I took a day trip with my wife to Baltimore on Friday, and had nice, strong 3G reception while in the Inner Harbor. I mean, literally, in the harbor, on a ferry, in the middle of the freaking water. Nice, strong reception all the way through to Fell’s Point.
Nice to know I can get better 3G reception in a boat in the harbor staring up the Domino’s Sugar sign than I can get in my office looking over at City Hall. A block and half from the AT&T;store.
We don’t need any more bars in our town. We have enough drunk drivers already.
2+ hours to backup/install/restore to 2.02.
All 3rd party apps crash on launch.
Now I get to spend the rest of the night doing a clean install and setting everything up from scratch. All games in progress, lost. All data in Epocrates, lost. All personalization of any kind, lost.
Thanks Apple.
At this point the ‘killer app’ for the iPhone would be one that backs up and restores all data for 3rd party apps at the tap of a button.
On the other side of things……on my iPod Touch…..update went quickly….it was done by the time dinner was over. All programs work and run smoothly….no crashes at all.
well I did my update and them went for a long walk, the battery life is a lot better now then before.
Updated to iPhone 2.0.2, and now the iPhone doesn’t show up in itunes anymore. Turned the phone on and off, rebooted, even re-downloaded iTunes 7.7.1. Nothing. I can’t sync the iPhone. Any suggestions?
Shams-
try unplugging your keyboard before hooking up your iPhone..
question-
I had the 1st rev iPhone and when someone would send a picture message it would send me to viewyourmessage.com to view it, but with my iPhone 3G it doesn’t send anything; ATT said its my 3G chip so I went and got a replacement iPhone and its still doesn’t work.. I’m I the only one with this problem?
and 2.0.2 deleted all my text messages.
which is not the big of a deal, but still.
