San Francisco Chronicle: Apple iPhone ‘a game-changer, makes you want to use it’

“So … is it all that? After all the ink that’s been spilled describing, previewing and hyping the Apple iPhone, does it deserve the attention? I’d have to say yes,” Ryan Kim reports for The San Francisco Chronicle.

“It has its flaws and omissions, but this is a device that will be defined by what it brings to the table, not what it leaves behind… This Internet, music and cellular device is a game-changer,” Kim reports.

“The lure of the iPhone is that it makes you want to use it. It’s actually fun. Do we say that about any phones? Hardly. It’s not really the physical design, which is a marvel of simplicity. It’s what happens when you pick it up and use it. There is nothing intimidating about it. Rather, it’s inviting,” Kim reports.

“For a first effort, this still blows away so many other phones because it takes us to a new level of interaction with our mobile devices. This makes the promise of a ‘mobile computing’ future seem possible because it’s now something we want to do.” Kim reports.

  1. ChrissyOne’s invited MDN readers to settle the gender issue a year or so ago, by Googling the name. Chrissy’s impressive MySpace site says it all.

ChrissyOne is one of MDN’s better posters, with an interesting take on Apple matters. Keep it up Chrissy (no pun intended).

“I really don’t get this weird ChrissyOne fanclub at MDN.”

    — Because the name is cute, possibly.

Drunk guy on beach: “What’s your name?”

    Drunk girl on beach: “Chrissy!!”

  3. To those who dont get “this ChrissyOne fan club” …

  5. I don’t understand why any supposedly straight guy would cream his pants over some dood dressed like a woman………I mean if you’ve looked at ChrissyOne’s profile she’s obviously not really a woman.

I mean, that’s not a reason to dislike her….but hot???

  6. returning to the original question…

perhaps our little collection of lunatics starts a fan club for anyone that is smart & cool. I for one am glad to have all those here who have made me laugh, engaged in a little political thrust & parry, or shared some knowledge.

c1, cubert, linux guy, even tt (you red-stater, you) and far too many others to mention… hat’s off to all of you, truly.
