RUMOR: Apple may add iPod to lineup on Tuesday

“Apple Computer is expected tack a new model onto its industry leading line of iPod digital music players as early as Tuesday, AppleInsider has learned,” Katie Marsal and Kasper Jade report for AppleInsider.

“Details are admittedly scarce, but people familiar with the matter say the new model will likely represent a slight variation of the Cupertino-based firm’s existing offerings rather than a breakthrough new product,” Marsal and Jade report.

Marsal and Jade report, “Specifically, those people say the announcement will add a new color (or edition) of an existing iPod. Neither the particular color or iPod model were readily available.”

  1. I hope it’s an iPhone inspired iPod… I know not the usual marketing strategy, bringing the lower end product out first. If they do finally release an updated iPod Veronic Belmont (of Buzz Out Loud fame) can stop whining and buy the latest and greatest. Love that podcast, and she’s so hot, and an Apple fangrrl.

  2. VOICE activ8ted iPod with wide screen and NO brown 😀

    Voice activated shuffles… (I do not think the “colored shuffles” was a racist remark – I am interpreting it as meaning multi-coloured iPod Shuffles)

    Voice controlled screen operations through your bluetooth device…

    MDN = voice…

  3. @Jerry T.

    When I read the first line you wrote to Just Some Guy I thought you were being funny, but the second line means you read JSG’s post differetly than it was meant.

    It would appear that your humor gene has been turned off tonight. Just Some Guy was refering to an ipod shuffle that might come in another color other than white. Towertone turned a nice phrase by turning it into something else, it was funny by making it seem to mean something that it didn’t.

    Your comment would appear to be on target if Just Some Guy was talking about race, but he wasn’t. The context of race (and humorously done I might add) was introduced by TT.

  4. I think a widescreen touchpod is unlikely. One of the most anticipated features of the iPhone is the built-in iPod and Apple isn’t going to ruin those sales by offering a version without the phone or internet built in. Maybe a year from now but ahead of the realease of the iPhone is just wishful thinking.

  5. Towertone, I think you’ll like this one:

    “Apple Computer reported today that it has developed computer chips that can be implanted and play music inside women’s breasts. The music is in stereo, of course.

    This is considered to be a major breakthrough because women are always complaining about men staring at their breasts, and not listening to them.”
