Espen Pettersen, Director of Windows Client at Microsoft Norway, recently visited a Norwegian newspaper to give a video interview and demo of Windows Vista.
Unfortunately for Microsoft’s Windows OEMs such as Dell, HP, etc., he did not bring his own equipment, which harks back to last summer when, at a presentation of the oft-delayed Windows Vista and Office 2007 for a group of bloggers at Microsoft HQ in Diegem, Belgium, a Microsoft representative demoed the products on an Apple MacBook Pro.
Interestingly, back in April, Steve Ballmer was interviewed by German newspaper “Die WELT” and was aksed, “Couldn’t you just buy a Mac without hesitation since Apple opened up their machines for Windows?” Ballmer responded, “No, we prefer real PCs.”

hahahahahah I love it.
Harbinger of things to come?
Trust me.. I went to a university bookstore to find out Vista was intalled on an iMac.. and it was so nice.. !
I meant the iMac.
Step 1: Embrace
Step 2: Extinguish
There is no step 3
I find this trend worrying, as if, as usually happens with windowz demos, there is a crash or freeze they might use the fact that it is demo’d on a mac as the excuse for the crash.
what do you think ??

Why does Bill always make me put on a black turtle neck, blue jeans and a strap-on?
He’s fired.
I like the way that they pan the camera up to crop the Apple logo out of the picture.
Someone needs to contact the Ombudsman immediately.
This can’t be legal.
I like the way the Microsoft Guy is keeping a straight face throughout the demo.
He must be fuming inside.
It would be even funnier if he had tried to use a Dell or HP first and Vista kept crashing.
O love on the close up when they pan up (completely taking the screen out of the center of the camera shot) just so they can get the Apple logo out of the shot.
@hugh,
I view it the opposite way. What better way of saying Windows is unstable on PCs so the computer of choice to demo is the Mac. In fact, I have had more lock-ups on my intel iMac using Tiger (VERY rare I may add) than I did running XP on it (none). Of course I use OSX 95% of the time so it is a little unfair to compare.
Why does Ballmer have a ticket to Oslo in one hand and a shovel in the other?
oops spark beat me to it.
@ truth decay….its not a shovel. Its a chair!
Did they even show any features of Vista? All I kept seeing is the freaking desktop.. Wow what an OS.
Woooo Haaaa Haaaaa, I love the closeup of the guys hands. They are shaking in fear of the hell he’s going to experience from Monkey Boy in Redmond for using an iMac for the demo!
Stupid Norwegians are as dumb as the Finns.
“Microsoft Norway’s Windows Director demos Vista on an Apple iMac (link to video). He must be fuming inside.”
Why would he be fuming? Microsoft doesn’t make computers, they don’t care what you run it on after you bought it.
What happens when (if) Microsoft figures out how to run Mac OS X in emulation?
Ok camera 1 give us a close up of the screen, ok… ahh you better pan up a bit we’re getting too much of that Apple logo. Oh never mind people will end up using Macs soon or later.
How do you install Vista on a Mac? I thought Boot Camp doesn’t support it yet. Do you just pop in a Vista DVD and install like normal?
OMG, there’s actually daylight outside the window!!
It would be great for Apple Stock if MS keeps telling people to buy macs to run Vista.
great for the stockholders
How ironic…I just tried watching the Vista demo’d on an iMac video on my Windoze machine, and Internet Explorer crashed!!!
