Microsoft Norway’s Windows Director demos Vista on an Apple iMac (link to video)

Espen Pettersen, Director of Windows Client at Microsoft Norway, recently visited a Norwegian newspaper to give a video interview and demo of Windows Vista.

Unfortunately for Microsoft’s Windows OEMs such as Dell, HP, etc., he did not bring his own equipment, which harks back to last summer when, at a presentation of the oft-delayed Windows Vista and Office 2007 for a group of bloggers at Microsoft HQ in Diegem, Belgium, a Microsoft representative demoed the products on an Apple MacBook Pro.

Interestingly, back in April, Steve Ballmer was interviewed by German newspaper “Die WELT” and was aksed, “Couldn’t you just buy a Mac without hesitation since Apple opened up their machines for Windows?” Ballmer responded, “No, we prefer real PCs.”

  1. “What happens when (if) Microsoft figures out how to run Mac OS X in emulation?” – AAPL Dude

What happens is Microsoft gets sued and loses. They all know how to run OS X in emulation on a PC. There are already hacks available. None of them are legal though.

  2. Melinda Gates,
That was the funniest thing I have read on these forums in a long freakin’ time!!!

Makes me want to up the ante…..hmmmmm….brain thinking…..

MDN MW = ‘behind’ (OK, read Melinda Gates’ post and think about it)

  3. Cubert. I know how BootCamp works.

I also know that you can start a Mac Intel even without BootCamp. Try it!!! Insert an Original Windows XP installation CD and upon re-start hold the C Key on the keyboard.. And you’ll see the installation screen. Of course there is no partition suitable for installation (unless you tell windows to format the HD) and there is no CD drivers prepared BY BootCamp… Well that’s another story.

My point is that the drivers are supposed to work AND made for XP not for Vista.

    So, My question is.

Do you think that the iMac shown was working WITH OR WITHOUT the BootCamp drivers?
