  1. OzzysCross101 – thanks, I was beginning to wonder if anyone out there gets it.

All the bitching — it’s kinda funny really, Steve covers it all in the Keynote, lots of idiots are running the mouth before being informed.

By the way, we witnessed nothing less than a revolution today. SEVERAL industries were rudely handed a wake up or die notice today.

Today the Zune for one, died.

  2. OzzysCross101: I don’t think Leopard will be released in June either. No doubt that the UI and new features will be released to devs and shown off for us users soon enough. But what I was saying is that maybe they were looking to make the Leopard release and iPhone release a little closer together. (ie. If the iPhone came out in March, and then Leopard came out in April, with a lot of similar or the same UI elements, it would be more predictable and less surprising).

Gotcha. If that’s what you mean, then it’s very likely and even possibly necessary. My guess is that iPhone is powered by Leopard since CoreAnimation and resolution independent GUI (iPhone uses 160 ppi screen) are parts of Leopard. If that is the case, then the delay is more due to the fact that Apple needs to put finishing touches to Leopard and put it through strict QA (people accept crashes less on consumer devices than on desktop PCs) rather than Apple not wanting to spoil surprises.
