President Bush shows off his Apple iPod (link to video)

“Ever wondered what the most powerful man in the world listens to in his spare time? In a rare departure from formal media interviews, George Bush has revealed what is on his personal IPod. Andrew Wilson reports on the President’s favourite tunes,” Sky News reports.

President Bush gets out his 4G iPod and reads some of the songs contained within: The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Alan Jackson, The Archies, Aretha Franklin, “Dan McLean,” upon which Bush was corrected “Don McLean” by Brit Hume, and more. Bush also has an iPod shuffle for bike riding. Bush also says U2’s Bono showed him the new Apple iPod 5G. “My iPod is a clunker, the newer version is much lighter” compared to the new 5G video-capable iPod, Bush said.

The video can be viewed here.

  1. i will forever be amazed at how some people interpret things. Someone here claimed that MDN posting this news story was an invite to bash Bush. For those who have already forgotten the headline, here it is:

President Bush shows off his Apple iPod

Pray do tell: is it not obvious to you that it is your insecurities and preconceptions talking rather than MDN?

Now, if the headline had been … ah, forget it. There’s enough chum in the water as it is.

  2. Hmm? Let’s see. You’re comparing someone who VOLUNTEERED to go to Vietnam to someone who got into the National Guard to AVOID going to Vietnam. The first person has a silver star and a bronze star; the second, a missing year of service – also known as AWOL.

And if you want to try the Swift Boat route on these facts, let’s talk about their coordinator, Karl Rove – soon to be indicted TRAITOR in a time of war.

Yep, Bush can use an iPod; not so much luck on a Segway or a variety of mountain bikes.

Let’s just hope his staff subscribes to Newsweek podcasts in iTunes. He has said he doesn’t read the news – listening might be his only option.

  3. “……….mac dood, you seem to know soooo much about Fox,……”

Well, I do know that Fox News is owned by Rupert Murdock … one of the most devout right wing-nuts in this country !
    (google him)

I also know that a viewer isnt supposed to know the political affiliation of a news anchor …. but do we know which party 99% of the people on Fox News belong to ??

    (now thats a no-brainer)

I invite you to take a bonehead Journalism course at your local Junior College …

You will be surprised to learn that a proper news story contains the following information …

    • The Who
    • The Where
    • The Why
    • The When
    • The How

Nothing more…nothing less … The minute you insert your opinion into the story, it is no longer “news”…. it becomes… just your opinion !!

Facts are facts …. Fox News … isnt news !!

  4. Yes while GW is an idiot, retarded definetly at least Jon Ive’s design is flawless even and yes you guessed it an idiot can use it without even knowing what the right words are for listening and using an iPod.

    Go Apple go!!

Isn’t it just great to be a Mac user in the early 21st Century!!!

Sky News is the British sister station to Fox News and both owned by News Corp and Rupert Murdoch.

MW ‘europe’ as in where else in the world do the smartest people come from – Europe.

  5. At least Bush married for love. No way did Kerry. His wife is a strange rich witch.

As for Europe, if there are any smart people there, it is only because we save their butts every quarter century. No thanks necessary, its like helping a cripple, anyone would do it.

  6. OK, you stinking liberals. Ever ask yourself why viewership and readership of main stream media is down?

Dishonest reporting at the NYTIMES, USA Today, Chicago Trib, et al. (Jayson Blair ring any bells?)

Dishonest reporting at CBS new by Dan Rather (Trying to effect an election with phony docs).

All doom and gloom and US bashing on Iraq by Evening news shows that refuse to show all the positive things that have happened as a result of the US getting rid of an evil regime.

Taliban is gone. Saddam is gone. Al Queada gone soon.

You libs are a bunch of wankers. Why don’t you hear what some Iraqis feel about it.

    http://thepoliticalteen.com/video/gotohell.mov

You won’t get this on the evening news. Chumps.

  7. hey “TheMacDude”…

    lemee ask you something …..

Why did GW give the Taliban (and OBL) a 3-month head start before invading Afganastan ? ….

And while Im on the subject .. just where is OBL ??

And just why isnt OBL on Bush’s radar anymore ?? … Wasnt he the guy who was responsible for 9/11 ??

Could the reason be because GW has been financed by the Bin Laden family all these years ??

uhhh … never mind … I’m probably asking the wrong person anyhoo

  8. To all my free thinking anti-Bush friends. Stop arguing with these idiot Bushies. First this to do when arguing with an idiot is to stop, they just make you look stupid too.

  9. mac doo, answers to your silly questions.

    >>Why did GW give the Taliban (and OBL) a 3-month head start before invading Afganastan ? ….

Would you have preferresd indiscriminate bombing? Of course, if Bush would have done so, you’d be the first screaming. You stupid Democrats and the UN gave Saddam 13 months to get rid of his WMD evidence with silly debate on intelligence that was cited by the Clinton admin way back in ’98-99. Look it up. You may want to also look up Madeline Albright and Sandy Berger on their Iraq WMD comments circa 199-2000.

    Mainstream media makes you dumb.

    >>And while Im on the subject .. just where is OBL ??

OBL is more than likely at cave temperature due to precision bombing from the good guys. Our US military.

    >>And just why isnt OBL on Bush’s radar anymore ?? … Wasnt he the guy who was responsible for 9/11 ??

    >>Probably because he is dead and his desparate partner in Evil, Al Zarqawi is the focus now.

Could the reason be because GW has been financed by the Bin Laden family all these years ??

    >>You obviously suffer from Michael Moore disease. How old are you? 14?

  10. “…….You obviously suffer from Michael Moore disease. How old are you? 14?…..

oh…. and just because he mentioned this well known fact in one of his movies… this makes me a teen ager ?

No, I am not a teenager, I am a Viet Nam Vet… I’ll leave it to you to use a calculator (if need be) to figure my age …

OBL is at cave temperature ?? … Thats good…. not likely true… but a good line nonetheless ..

    >>”you stupid Democrats and the UN gave Saddam 13 months to get rid of his WMD evidence”….<<

And how did he accomplish this miracle while the entre world was watching him ?

    >>”Mainstream media makes you dumb.”<<

And Fox News isnt “Mainstream” ?? …. oh, but they DO make you smart, dont they ?

  11. Hey, The Dude — well said. Let’s revisit:

“Stop arguing with these idiot Bushies. First this to do when arguing with an idiot is to stop, they just make you look stupid too.”

Okay, liberal retard, let’s see how it SHOULD read:

“Stop arguing with these idiot Bushies. First THING to do when arguing with an idiot is to stop. THEY just make you look stupid too.”

    Who’s the idiot now, douchebag?

  12. All I wish is that people would get on. Planet Earth is a wonderful place, with us, the human race, who llive within it. My stance? Forget all this rubbish. If you want to talk, then talk. If your want to fight then walk away, then think about what you quarrel over and a way to both get what you want. Simple issues interest people. Things that make you happy – providing for a family, making tough decisions, doing SOMETHING you are proud of. Something that makes you feel invincible. If we all learn to live in this world and work together we could create an opn source human race. Not some Bill Gates/George W. Bush/Ibrahim Al-Jaafari/Clinton/Blair/Major/Cheney ideology, but a world that is communicating internationally but NOT relying on International produce/money/oil to run day-to day business.

Self-sustainability. Some day we will all have to learn this skill.

    Peace brothers, Mac Lovers.

  13. You obviously suffer from Michael Moore disease. How old are you? 14? What are you talking about? All this Michael Moore Bashing about him being a liberal is non-sense. Michael Moore is a Republican.

Next. Why argue about Bush. There is no way we can get him out so why are you pro Bushers so addiment on defending him. Be smart, shut up. You won’t sound so dumb. He’s now a lame duck president that has maneuvered himself in to a corner with the vast mistakes he has made both domestically and abroad. He’s a disease that no smart politician wants to be associated with. The last election showed us that when a Candidate actually lost a race for governorship with his support.

Kerry Bashing? Lol. Jeeze guys, he didn’t get in and won’t. Get over it.

Clinton? He’s going down in history as the Greatest president we have ever known. Americans Prospered when he was in office. Besides every president has shared a bed with other than his wife and it has never been a prob. Every president has lied and it has never been a problem. People have more problems with Clintons messy dress scandal than they do with The Kennedy Bros. bedding all of Hollywood. AND THEY LIED. At least to their wives.

We have all found out what intelligence we have. There is no way anyone could hide nuke mass destruction weapons and sneak them out of the country. Not without witness. Can you say Satellite surveillance? A movement like that would have been seen.

If you know of a weapon that hits the targets that they are suppose too let me know, K? Smart Bomb? Where is it? We hit schoolhouses fool. Smart bomb was something our government told people so that they would inspire confidence in us, the American public and to scare the enemy away. Now we all know that monster doesn’t exist.

How about satellite guided weapon we could launch and it would hit a gnat from clear across the globe? If that exists, why are we involving 16 and 18 year olds to die in this war. ALL LIES. Like the saying goes. “No one died when Clinton lied.”

OBL. He’s a friend of Bush, how could he destroy him? All of you need to back away from the TV and read. Bush is a fool that is just going through the motions. He is and always has been a knee jerk reactionist. He has done more to take away our freedoms than any other president.

Here’s the big one. Why did Bush announce he was going to war after 911? What he should have done is said nothing and sent a secret force to find the terrorists. OBL would have thought that we were the passive Americans again and just stood still where he would have been caught. But Bush wanted to go to war as well as warn OBL. He wanted fame as a war president. He even called himself a war president in one speech when it is a matter or record he avoided military service.

Bush switched gears awful quick from OBL to Saddam. Iraq has never been a country that has ever attacked us. Corrupt maybe but face it. If we went after every corrupt government we’d have to be at war forever. And what happened to the three-month war that overtaking Iraq was suppose to be? They weren’t that easy to overtake were they?

Am I liberal? Am I conservative? NO, I’m an observer and because of that I have no affiliation. Is Bush a bad president? He certainly isn’t a leader. He’s a coward and too quick to decide. Liberals. Celebrate he only has three more years. Conservatives. Take comfort in the fact he’ll be there awhile longer and there is nothing the liberals can do about it. What’s the Argument? Bush hasn’t stained any ones dress. Then, who the heck wants him? Better to stain a dress with Clinton than to stain a reputation with Bush.

  14. Bad Tool is more like a Bad Fool.

Your not fooling anyone here but yourself. I could rebut all your silly assertions but why bother. For example, If Mr. Moore was a Republican, why was he a special guest during the Demo convention. Sat next to another traitor, Jimmy Carter.

Again, you fool no one. I could go on but why bother.

  15. bvdecicco: “So he’s not completely a moron … Well, he is still all moron, but at least he likes his iPods.”

I think it’s time to propose a new law, let’s call it Margret’s Law, that goes like this:

If any online discussion mentions G.W. Bush or those who voted for him, the probability of an assertion that the President is a moron (stupid, retarded, any other of a number of reduced-IQ epithets) instantly approaches 1.

And, as has been traditional with Godwin’s Law, the logical corollary:

Whoever says Bush or his supporters are stupid automatically loses the argument.

    ————

Enough already. Bush talks plain and has had the courage to take action where none of his predecessors dared tread. Bush thinks different. And he’s cured the despotic pathology of the Middle East as a result. Some of you may not be able to see it now, but I and many others see it as clearly as we see Apple’s ascendance in the technology landscape of the future.

It wouldn’t be the first time a visionary was initially ridiculed…

  16. Why do some people insist on bringing their politics into every conversation? It is flat out disgusting how tasteless these attacks on the President are. It must be because liberals hate to see this country do yet one more great thing that other countries were too afraid to do. I think I’ve finally figured out liberals have no vested interest in seeing our country remaining a leader in the free world. If it were up to them, we would all be living in a socialist utopia with a dictator who took away all our firearms, told us we could only speak on liberal controlled media aka CNN, NYT, etc, force us all to use Linux, because of course any AMERICAN product such as an Apple computer simply isn’t good enough for them… And of course when there are other countries under oppression, we are supposed to support the dictator of the country, not the poor oppressed people. I say to hell with liberalism. If all they care about is power and greed, and can’t cut through the political bullshit and realize that what we are doing in Iraq is literally saving the lives of millions of people in the United States and Iraq, then to hell with them…
