Podfather: iPod porn is going to be huge

“The adult-entertainment industry that kick-started the pre-recorded home-video market is likely to do the same with video podcasts,” Frank Barnako reports for MarketWatch. “Adam Curry, president of PodShow Inc., said this week’s announcement of the new video iPod from Apple Computer. ‘Porn is just going to be huge,’ he told listeners to his Daily Source Code podcast this week. ‘The porn guys are just going, ‘holy moly,” — in gratitude for the new market that’s opened up to them. But adult material is only one facet of new commercial opportunities, that Curry foresees.”

  1. I am with iCrystal. I am so sick of how saturated with porn the internet (and society) is becoming. Of course sex is natural – that isn’t the point. Its the degradation and perversion of sex that IS. Porn gives one a completely distorted idea of sex and the relationship that goes with it.

Porno Pete – “Yay. I’m a smelly scum… You know, there’s actually couples who spice things up a little with porn every now and then… it’s not just for deranged perverts. We’re adults, we can watch whatever we want.

    Kids seeing it… that’s another matter….”

I am afraid that sounds a bit hipocritical.

    Mike:
“… yet people killing each other on prime time television is considered “acceptable?” “

    I don’t think it is.

  2. Music videos these days are borderline porn anyway. But iCrystal does has a point to a certain degree. Personaly I love porn, I don’t flaunt it but hey I’m human. But this will make it a hell of a lot easier for porn to be displayed to kids, and that can be a worry. I know, I know, it’s been going on for years with magazines and such. But we don’t want our kids to be suddenly totaly bombarded with this stuff do we.

  3. I can’t imagine Apple partnering to sell porn anytime soon so how will the porn sites get their revenue from this?

The same way they do now with free samples to bait the hook, but provided as podcasts.

Build it and they will come.

    Obvious pun unintended
