Rush Limbaugh and Apple Computer working to bring podcasts of radio show to iTunes Music Store

It seems that sometime soon, you’ll be able download podcasts of Rush Limbaugh’s radio show from Apple’s iTunes Music Store and/or RushLimbaugh.com. Rush Limbaugh’s web site is currently sporting note stating, “Podcast coming soon. Daily downloadables will be here very soon, folks. Be There on Day One of the Rush Podcast.” A transcript of Rush’s comments to a caller, Bob in Louisville, Kentucky, inquiring about podcasts of The Rush Limbaugh show reads:

“I can’t tell you the number of requests… about getting the podcast the program, make MP3s available and we are in the process of setting up a system for that to happen. I don’t know when it’s going to happen. In fact, I was expecting that it was going to happen two weeks ago. It’s running a little bit behind so I’m not comfortable giving you a firm date but I can tell you that we are working on it…. I think there may be an attempt here to tie it in with the Apple Music Store. If that works out, it would be great. If it doesn’t… I think there’s some tie in that we’re trying to do with Apple and I’m not sure how far that’s advanced. I know it’s been worked on. Countless, thousands of people are asking me about this. So actually I’m glad you called, to be able to take the occasion of your call to express it or explain the process here. I wish I had a more firm and definite date for you. All I can tell you is it’s one of the things at the top of the list that we’re working on… If I had to guess, it’s something that will happen. I just don’t know when. “

“The Rush Limbaugh Show” is currently carried by more than 650 U.S. radio stations and is heard by nearly 25 million people weekly.

  1. Does Fox News have a ‘spin’? Yes.
Do the NYT, Newsweek, Washington Post, Time, CNN, etc have a ‘spin’? Yes.
    Is it unvarnished news? No.
Is most of it relevant? No.
These folks are in the business of selling advertising. The ‘content’ is just the bait. There are far more important things to report on than the Michael Jackson trial, whoever is missing at the moment, et al. Meanwhile, Rome burns and the news readers are doing the same old song & dance.

  2. If I were a soldier, I’d use the Quran to wipe my butt on and flush down the toliet as well.

I’m saying what everyone is scared to say: the Quran is trash. JRR Tolkien has more relevance to morality the nthe Quran

  3. Fox News isn’t any more one sided than CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, Newsweek, Reuters, The Associated Press, New York Times, LA Times, Agence France-Presse, CBC, BBC, or Al Jazeera. There are plenty of left wing “news” sources out there.

  4. 1. Sean Hannity
    2 Rush Limbaugh
    (and hopefully soon)
    3. Jim Cramer

I’m not a big music fan, but I love talk (conservative or money) radio. You learn so much, and it’s very worthwhile.

With Podcasts becoming more and more popular, I’d see more reason (personally) to buy a iPod mini.

  5. hey Will…

you siy: cbc.ca canadian broadcasting corporation

The world’s most trusted new source.

ROFLMAO. Who would trust any news source that isn’t guaranteed freedom of press and is in FACT denied the right to publish stories the government doesn’t want released? In the US we get lies and crap from both sides but at least we know we get it all – in spades and up to our ears. Whether it is Rush or Al (Franken or Gore) we get to hear everyone’s “facts” as they make them up. You get to see whatever your government wants you to see. Now stop trying to *think* and follow the flock carefully back to the barn – baaaaahhhhhh.

Magic Word “fall” as in: does Will think anyone will fall for that crap?

  6. Morons:

Fox News is unabashedly biased. Many of the other news outlets you listed are so paranoid of being accused of liberal bias that they have actually become more conservative.

Any news outlet that publishes anything negative about the Bush administration or other GOP leaders is immediately branded as “liberal media” when it is the role of the press to be critical of government.

    And oh yeah, Macs rock!

  7. afcombatcrayola:

If these are your sources, we can see how much you’ve learned.

Go back to your PC and repeat after me: “The war in Iraq was to bring democracy to the region. Tax cuts and huge deficits are responsible governing. Dismantling Social Security is a wise and compassionate thing to do….)

  8. Just be happy you do not live in Minnesota. Al Franken (originally from St. Louis Park, MN) is considering moving back here from New York so he can run for the U.S. Senate. Sounds like Hilary has been coaching him.

  9. “it is the role of the press to be critical of government”

Funny, I thought the role of the press was to report the news using facts, whether it ends up being supportive of the government or critical of it should be irrelevent. Though in this day and age everything *has* to have a label because most people are uninformed and can’t argue the facts. And we end up with comments like “right wing idiot” and “liberal clown”.

  10. Morons-

OK, maybe I should have used the word “suspicious” instead of “critical”. But my point was it is necessary for democracy to have an independent press that doesn’t just go along with everything an administration does.

  11. Oops,

Newsweek is not responsible for over a dozen muslim deaths, fanatic muslims without the facts are responsible for over a dozen muslim deaths and over 100 injured.

Do you see other religions killing there own for something that was published in a magazing and retracted a few days later?????

    Doesn’t happen.

Look at this sermon performed by Sheik Ibrahim Mudeiris and tell me I’m wrong.

    G5Man…

Ps….sorry to drag politics and religion onto this site…its not my style but when I see posts like this I lose it.

  12. I can’t imagine that he’d want that. Now all of his incorrect facts and predictions will be out there for everyone to see. And why would this involve the Apple Store? Most reputable businesses won’t go near him with a ten foot pole, and I can’t see Apple being any different.

  13. So, how much will these Podcasts cost?

Politics aside, I think it’s great to be able to listen to a program whenever you want. And being able to listen to an OLD program or one you missed is a great thing as well.

  14. re: “I can’t imagine that he’d want that. Now all of his incorrect facts and predictions will be out there for everyone to see.”

Well, if his facts are incorrect, and the predictions are out there for everyone to see, we will all know it and so will he. Why would he want to do it unless he thought he could handle it.

I have a feeling he can handle it. So maybe your “imagination” about him could be wrong.

    Possible?

  15. Macs Rock, Rush smokes rock. Rush is just like Macklen, no that’s not right. He is a big boob.
Drug addicted, self-denying, hypocritical asshole. Maybe he can talk about how to get your dr. to give you more pain killers. On Franken moving to NY. Didn’t Allen Keyes get his ass kicked when he tried to carpetbag Barack in Illinois? Let’s see, he’s a Republican isn’t he? So that would make it alright.

  16. We Can Tell,

I serve. I protect. Even people whose opinions (yours) differ from my own.

Liberal news networks would have you beleive that Iraqis have a worse standard of living now than before we liberated them. They are wrong. Iraqi’s are not saying “Oh, please have Islamic radicals rule us!!! I just can’t wait for all the unhumane things they’ll do to us!”

There is a possibility of a non-religion governed state in Iraq, and insurgents don’t like it. So, they kill themselves and others to scare the world, which is full of cowards that would let these TERRORISTS get away with it. They use fear to get what they want. Evil knows no conscience.

We, the USA, used military strength and superior morality to obtain JUSTICE in Iraq. W is not a coward, nor are the armed forces that call him Commander in Chief. We are strong.

(typed on a PC, longing for OS X on x86 architecture)

  17. i think it is funny that mac fans are getting up in arms about liberal/conservative stuff…

i mean really, you see the mac/windows crap in the news, don’t you get it that it is the same liberal/conservative?

oh, and if you have to put ‘you’ in front of a group (i.e. you liberals, you mac fanatics, you NE fans) you are probably losing the argument.

that being said, this is great. rush podcasting. he needs to get on itunes, but he has to get through thesteve… and we know how he leans (just leave some room in the knees)

  18. If that pill poppin’ freak gets on the iTunes music store, I’m leaving Apple for good. Jesus christ, can’t we go anywhere to get away from the moronic right wing freaks. Surely Steve will nix it.
