  1. If I remember right the first one of these was won by someone in… the USA, Apple’s home base and biggest market. And now this one is won by someone in… China, Apple’s current most important market as they have seen sales growing rapidly in China. Oh don’t you just love those little coincidences in life. I’m not saying it’s fixed, of course not that would be unthinkable LMAO.

    1. It make statistical sense. It’s like buying a large number of tickets at a Raffle. Your odds aren’t guaranteed, but become better of being drawn. The US and China have to make up a huge percent of all downloads on any given day.

  2. Someone from China eh? I think Apple did that on purpose as they are trying to expand in China. What better way with this kind of exposure? I think the while App download clock is a hoax too!

    1. haha. Yeah, as in, “Where’s my water?” The future in which water scarcity starts wars may be closer than we think. And resource scarcity in China may also be a serious issue before long.

  3. just looking at the titles of the links MDN put up.

    2008-2009 1 billion (9 months)
    2009-2010 2 billion (another 9 months) 3 billion total
    2010-2011 7 billion downloads. (jan-jan) 10 billion total
    2011-2012 15 billion downloads. (jan-March) 25 billion total..

I’m pretty sure the Android Market is pretty close to those numbers as well 😉
Apple needs to watch out, or they will lose the “Tablet War”

    /sarcasm

  4. Chunli Fu will receive a $10,000 iTunes Gift Card.

The card will be stolen the day he receives it and the account information will be published online. Meanwhile, all of his relatives will be pestering him for free Apple stuff. This is China. 😯
