Apple’s App Store has hit the 25 billion downloads milestone and, accordingly, the 25 Billion Apps Countdown Promotion has ended.
Apple says to check back later to see who’s won the US$10,000 App Store Gift Card redeemable in the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBook Store.
Apple’s App Store opened for business on July 10, 2008. The one billion downloads milestone was hit on April 23, 2009. The 10 billion downloads milestone was reached on Saturday, January 22, 2011.

Ask and ye shall receive. Thanks, Cubert.
What about the growth rate of porn vs. the growth rate of app downloads? Any correlation?
It actually slows the rate of porn growth (giggity giggity) due to a lack of available hands for navigating the App Store.
Exponential and then some.
Let me get this right: the winner gets to spend $10,000 on downloaded music, books and apps, but not at the Apple store? I sure hope no one wasted any time actively trying to win that prize. It would be like winning the opportunity to buy $10,000 worth of shoes. Great — up to a point. That said, Apple rocks, and I have spent more than a few dollars for apps, music and books.
Congratulations. You’ve won 10,000 lap dances at Wal-Mart with the checkout girl.
as long as I pick the checkout girl.. I’ll take it. There are a couple cute ones at my Walmart.
That is amazing. Most of the gals weigh in at about 200, like the customers.
…there’s also the Mac App Store, don’t forget. If I won, I’d be loading up on a lot of major desktop apps like Final Cut Pro and Aperture. Could spend a lot of money really easily.
I’m glad it wasn’t me because it would be taxable. Winning $10,000 as a coupon and then having to pay taxes on that, it comes out to just a major discount.
