Steve Jobs presents first iPhone to Madonna?

The first person on earth (outside of Apple Inc. and perhaps AT&T Wireless) to use an iPhone is Madonna, courtesy of Steve Jobs, according to Autoboard.

Autoboard reports, “Some time ago her daughter’s iPod screen deteriorated [and] Apple Support service replaced the player.”

Steve Jobs has found out about the problem and sent Madonna an iPhone as a very exclusive gift, an iPhone, according to Autoboard.

Autoboard has photos of an “iPhone” in Madonna’s hand in the full article here.

MacDailyNews Take: That’s not an iPhone, unless it’s a prototype. An image of Apple’s iPhone back from their “Hello” TV commercial on the left versus what Madonna was carrying [looks more like a black U2 iPod or black iPod or iPod with a dark reflection or Photoshop’d image] below:

  1. Wow, I’m surprised this isn’t as obvious to others as it is to me, but this picture clearly shows the shiny metallic backside of an iPod. The Apple logo you see is the one etched in the center of the metal case. The little bump on the top is the hold button, as others have pointed out. But, since you can’t see the front surface at all, why would anyone speculate that it’s black, U2, or any other color? It could be anything from a 3G iPod to any size iPod Video–they all look alike from the back.

  2. we all understand how we are desperate to wait for freaking iphone. but that photo IS NOT iphone. it’s ipod. they can’t even distinguish from the back iphone? plus, Steve gives no men such a special gift. even though they are celebrities. you know what? who will get iphone first? Apple board of trustee people.

Madonna is popular but doesn’t have power to grab IT world. in IT world, she is nothing.

  3. It’s an iPod…
    Period….

    FCC approval hasn’t hit yet…

    Kind of frogie news…

    As in MDN = french

Also her hands do look like she has traded her fingers for french fries… ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”raspberry” style=”border:0;” />

    And as NOT-an-iPhone-!- said:

    NOT-an-iPhone-!-NOT-an-iPhone-!-NOT-an-iPhone-!-NOT-an-iPhone-!-NOT-an-iPhone-!-NOT!!!!

  4. Not an iPhone. Definitely not. This an iPod with a shiny back, as you can see the reflection of Madonna’s fingers. It looks black because she is (as seen in the full photo on the original web site) approaching a black automobile, thus the black paint is reflected in the shiny back part of the iPod. Probably a standard iPod to replace the one that broke.

  5. Alex,

Since she is a long time iPod user then i guess you haven’t bought an Apple product since ages ago ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />

If you base your purchase decisions in don’t being equal to someone, then…. Well i guess that is impossible to buy something that there’s no one worldwide who possesses an equal item. And if you cold, there will be always someone who will try to copy you and buy the same thing, so the circle is completed. You will not be exclusive anymore.

You won’t buy a “Mac product” again? Did you check who had the same thing you bought before buying?. Sounds kind of crazy to me, but well, to each its own..

    PS iPhone Madonna edition anyone?

  6. Oh, come on…

The iPod has a POLISHED STAILNESS STEEL “MIRROR” as it’s back… She is walking towards a black car…

What do mirrors do? They reflect.

What does the reflection of black look like? They reflect black!

  7. Thats not an iPhone. Why? Becuase 1) it has a reflective surface at the back, resembling an iPod rather and 2) the Apple logo is in the center of the device, just like in an iPod. In the iPhone, the logo is more to the top center, and has a different glass effect. The one on the Ipod is just laser etched, which is what is seen on this picture.
