Why Apple Watch sales are primed to explode

“With Apple Watch availability, functionality, and style options all poised to explode at the same time, there’s a good chance that Apple’s new wearable will soon experience a dramatic uptick in sales,” Yoni Heisler writes for BGR. “And with the busy holiday shopping season fast approaching, the timing couldn’t be better.”

“‘Through the end of the quarter,’ Tim Cook explained two months ago, ‘the Apple Watch sell-through was higher than the comparable launch periods of the original iPhone or the original iPad. And we were able to do that with having only 680 points of sale,'” Heisler writes. “Looking ahead, it appears that Apple Watch availability is on the cusp of skyrocketing.”

“Starting next week, the Apple Watch will reportedly be available for purchase from both Sprint and T-Mobile stores,” Heisler writes. “Additionally, Best Buy announced this past summer that the Apple Watch will be available across 200 brick and mortar stores before the 2015 holiday shopping season.”

On the back of Apple Watch’s case, a ceramic cover with sapphire lenses protects a specially designed sensor that uses infrared and visible-light LEDs and photodiodes to detect your heart rate. Apple Watch uses this sensor, along with an accelerometer and the GPS and Wi‑Fi in your iPhone, to measure myriad types of physical movement.

“Notably, the device will also be available for purchase via Best Buy’s website,” Heisler explains. “Further, Apple is also expanding Apple Watch availability worldwide, with the company adding a number of new authorized re-sellers to the mix in Australia and a number of European countries.”
