Beleaguered Samsung slumps to 10-month low on disappointment with latest phones

“Samsung Electronics Co. slumped to a 10-month low in Seoul on disappointment with its latest smartphones to challenge Apple Inc.,” Jungah Lee reports for Bloomberg.

“The stock dropped 3.2 percent to 1,104,000 won on Monday, its lowest since October 28,” Lee reports. “Samsung has fallen 17 percent this year and is headed for its third straight annual decline.”

“‘Last week’s unpacking event was very disappointing,’ said Yoo Eui Hyung, an analyst with Dongbu Securities Co. in Seoul. ‘We should now admit that new smartphones are no longer a thing that can reverse the profit decline,'” Lee reports. “Samsung earnings have fallen for five straight quarters.”

  1. If Samsung hadn’t proved to be such a treacherous company, they would have remained as Apple’s principal supplier of components. However, Samsung’s lack of principles has led to them losing most of those contracts to their rivals, who are flourishing by supplying the immense volume of components that Apple needs.

  2. *sniff*sniff* SOB* 😩😭😿

Oh so sorry you’re being soooo screwed Samsung.

I lie! 😛 Now fork over the dough you owe Apple, you plagiarist rat finks.

Oh and a special ‘hello’ to the *ding*bats* Samsung sends over here to make us all happy.

  3. I once placed Samsung products high on my shopping lists. I haven’t for the past few years, not after my eyes were opened to the long history of Samsung as a business with a business model based on appropriating the Intelectual Property of others.

I don’t buy watches in parking lots, and I don’t buy Samsung.

    1. Exactly. Samsung products are automatically taken off my list if I am purchasing anything. Some things like components I can’t get away from but anything that actually says Samsung on the outside is a “NO” even if they make a great product.

      I won’t reward thieves.

      1. Exactly. I just spent $20K on a new kitchen. The brand names on the major appliances include Bosch, Maytag, Electrolux, and GE, but not Samsung. I don’t do business with, nor do I support thieves.
