  1. I’d be curious to know if this means that the iPhone has finally been certified for secure use by the POTUS and others in the WH. To imagine that so far, only BlackBerry has been approved is to realise the bizarre ways American federal Government evaluates and certifies various products for their own use.

    1. It’s funny that you chose “Think” as your display name, since you obviously didn’t do so before replying. 🙂

Obama took office in January 2009. That was six years and four months ago. Any sane person would round that to SIX in stating his term in years.

  2. There are some errors in this post. The correct way to say his name is President Barack Obama. Unless of course the poster is just being completely disrespectful.

    1. Failed mac (sic) IMAP email fiasco? Hyperbole much?

For a supposed “fiasco”, I and none of my friends or relatives have had any problem with iCloud email whatsoever. I’ve been using Apple mail almost as long as I can remember.

  3. I’m thinking this is a separate device (of course) just for use like Twitter. He doesn’t have/do secure email on it, or other classified comms.

For a ‘personal’ Twitter account, I don’t see why they wouldn’t have cleared a ‘normal’ iPhone for his use.

  4. B-b-b-b-but the iPhone is the preferred tool of terrorists!

Why would he betray us all like this? Did he (or *can* he) turn the encryption off?

Also, is the post from @BarackObama or @POTUS? It’s unclear in the article. If the latter, then will the account be reassigned after the next inauguration?

  5. “They,” meaning the National Security Police State Apparatus, not the US Congress, not the judiciary, and certainly not the presidency, that fundamentally runs the federal corporation. Of course, this must to change for the better. It’s up to the people.
