Samsung is having a very public iPhone 6/Plus nervous breakdown

“Samsung, you rascal,” Ken Segall writes for Observatory. “I thought you’d unloaded all your anti-iPhone 6 ammunition with that spate of bad ads a few days ago. Yet here you are, trying another tack.”

“This time, rather than going with the unfunny comedy approach, you’re basically presenting your case to the jury. You had the big screen first and you can prove it,” Segall writes. “Okay. Unfortunately, you’re overlooking one little detail: nobody gives a hoot.”

“Most people care about the choices right in front of them. Today. They look at price, quality, design and reliability. Who came first isn’t exactly #1 on their priority list. Of this you should be thankful,” Segall writes. “Otherwise, iPhones would own 100% of the smartphone market.”

  1. In my job (Radiology/Medical Imaging) I come in contact with a broad swath of people from all walks of life. Since cell phones and medical imaging equipment do not mix, I get to see what everyone is using.

Marketing hype and fanboy bullshit aside there is a very definite divide on the Scamsung/Android/iPhone preference issue.

1- Like MDN has stated, ScamSung is the home of the BOGO crowd. A few are frugal or just do not care what phone they use, but most are those looking for CHEAP.
2- There is an almost universal presence of iPhones among the more educated and higher income individuals. Very close to a direct relationship- the more you make or the more educated you are the more likely you are to be packing an iPhone.

ScamSung can promote all they want- it is well known that the iPhone is what people want and ScamSung is what people who are cheap or cannot afford an iPhone settle for. Maybe it is different in Seoul, but in these United States it is not even close.

  2. dd but true:

on the 1 hand: Apple iPhone 6 makes Samsung cry/tremble

on the other: ApplePay makes PayPal crumble too (see NYT ad Sp15 http://readwrite.com/2014/09/1…

    iSteve always said it right:

    Competition? Flummoxed!

it does NOT matter who invents. who cares whose 1st.

it’s who 1st does it well! ubiquitous.

    it’s sooo ironic.

    samsong / PayPale / goo / moto / nokio / microdough etc.

are all acting like Spoilt Children,

have no sense of self-esteem, confidence, soul, iQ, eQ,

and only in panic seek scapegoats, cry over spilled milk,

    spread FUD, bribe media etc.

    so irresponsible. so silly.

    grow up Samsung/PayPal.

    do not grow on mockery/Schadenfreude.

    grow on self-merit.

Gandhi: BE the Change you wish to see.

    if you’re so smart/innovative/successful etc.

why do you not for a change, act smart and innovate beyond complaints or mockery, but evolve into something better, more advanced than Apple whom you copy the entire time of your existence?!

sill ads just pronounce your unworthiness.

At least one player in the game of life, Apple, is maturely moving everyone through many industries, forward!

  3. The most laughable thing about this ad is that Samsung has not even announced a release date for the Galaxy Note 4! The Next Big Thing Is Here … uh NO IT’S NOT!

Samsung announced the Note 4 the week before Apple’s event, yet Apple will have millions of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus units in consumers’ hands before Samsung even announces the shipping date and final specs.
