“KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a respectable track record in revealing Apple’s future product plans, issued a note on Sunday,” Neil Hughes reports for AppleInsider. “In it, he revealed that while Apple’s 4.7-inch ‘iPhone 6’ is still expected to debut this fall, the larger 5.5-inch model could be introduced at a later date.”
“According to Kuo, Apple is already facing production bottlenecks on the 4.7-inch model related to the new technology for the device’s in-cell touch panel, as well as color unevenness on the redesigned ‘iPhone 6’ metal casing,” Hughes reports. “Those problems are said to be even worse with the larger 5.5-inch model.”
“The analyst did hold out some hope that the 5.5-inch ‘iPhone 6’ could launch in 2014,” Hughes reports. “But even if that happens, he said it’s likely to occur after mid-fourth-quarter, which would mean after mid-November — a much later timeframe than Apple has launched new iPhone models in recent years.”

Same tired storyline year after year… It’s 3 months out. They probably JUST started production… Are these clowns that hard up for a story they need to write about products a full quarter before they are even here?
Same thing as last year.. Then apple went out and sold 12m units Ina weekend… *yawn*
Simple, this is a Hedge Fund Manager(s) generated Bullshit story to help manipulate the price of the stock.
As I’ve said here before, if these phones are not out in time for the holiday season, heads need to roll at Apple — including Tim Cook.
These phones should have been out one year ago.
Yes can’t believe another delay would be well received, and set back badly all the good work of late. Cool on this unless and until we get to August and signs are bad because yup we always get these sort of stories.
George, you really are a jackass.
These phone could not have been out one year ago, for reasons you, as well as everyone else, are perfectly aware of; Apple works to an annual upgrade cycle, with a full re-design every two years, and an upgrade of the current model in between.
To suggest otherwise, as you have done, shows you’re either shockingly ignorant of everything to do with Apple, or, and this is closer to the truth, just a stupid troll.
Or, maybe they were only ever making one model (4.7 In). Now the analysts are scrambling to cover their “predictions” based on unnamed Chinese sources.
This is the only other possibility besides a Hege Fund Manager story. Good point. Either way its a bunch of jackasses trying to manipulate the conversation around Apple for personal gain.
I want an iPhab.
Such a pity that a nonexistent product is being delayed from its hypothetical launch date due to mythical production issues on a part that may or not be included in the final spec….
Bad news!!
Has there been a single model iPod/iPhone/iPad that did NOT receive this headline 2-3 months before it’s expected to ship? Wasn’t there just an article the other day stating that Apple had ordered an unprecedented number of iPhones? Getting so old…
…so tired of the speculation. Anal-ysts and the media just need to stop trying to second-guess what’s going on inside Apple.
F.U.D. ……move along….nothing to see here.
This is stock manipulation.
Just another story some analyst pulled out of his ass.
