“Microsoft Corp.’s top mobile-phone executive said its Windows Phone operating system has an opportunity to lure away Apple Inc. and Google Inc. users because it offers a more exciting and smoother experience,” Scott Moritz and Dina Bass report for Bloomberg.
“Apple’s iOS software is ‘boring,’ with icons across the bottom that offer little information or flexibility, said Terry Myerson, vice president of the Windows Phone division, at a conference in New York,” Moritz and Bass report. “Google Inc.’s Android is ‘a mess,’ with too many different versions of the operating software in use, he said.”
Moritz and Bass report, “The Redmond, Washington-based software maker had 2.6 percent of the smartphone operating system market in the fourth quarter, according to research firm IDC.”

Microsoft has a mobile phone chief. Why? Guess the job entails making stupid comments to the media…
Y’know, using “Scott Moritz” and “report” in the same sentence is a contradiction in terms.
Ja, like a Zune in dog shit brown was really an eye opener…..not!
Their is huge massive drug use going on in microsoft. These executives need to quit using.
That has to be the funniest thing I’ve heard all day.
Mr. Myerson… what is it about “it’s the apps, stupid” don’t you get? The iPhone can be almost anything you want it to be, and flat, 2-dimensional widget tiles won’t change that one damn bit.
Well, for a “boring iOS”, it’s sure making a lot of money for the company, eh?!
Years ago, I thought iOS was boring by the time I was using a 3GS and I switched to BB Torch just for fun. At the end, it’s not fun, I almost wanna smash the BB on the ground…. One word for BB “Sluggish.” I could typed faster than its processor. Switched back to the 4S, I feel like I’m alive and from then, I switched to i5 and I don’t think I will switch again. No matter how good is the design of the OS UI, if it failed to provide ease of use and functionality; it’s just a hype for a short time then I new design will take over.
Ok, the guy is spewing trash out of his Microsoft-hole
But he is right in that there is a lot of brilliant stuff iOS could do and doesn’t, and I hope does do soon with an iOS refresh.
There is also some messy confusing stuff that I hope they fix up soon. Specifically, notification center is kind of a “widget” place. And quick actions are mixed between notification center and what ever that horrid thing is that happens when I double press the home button. Also, there is a completely wasted screen that currently hosts the “search” home screen. Why is there an entire home screen page dedicated to a single text box. And the home button double press should be removed from iOS. It is just not comfortable and the non-power users that I know, don’t even comprehend that it exists. Why hide iTunes controls there. Anyway, that’s my rant.
CRASHity CRASH CRASH!
May Microsoft live in ‘interesting’ times.
*DING!* My wish has been granted. 😆
