Microsoft offers Microsoft Office for Mac Accredited Support Professional accreditation

“The new Microsoft Office for Mac Accredited Support Professional program will target Microsoft Office for Mac, and Microsoft Office 365 suites,” David Morgenstern reports for ZDNet.

“The pilot training and accreditation program will be offered free to registered attendees to MacTech’s 2013 BootCamps II seminars, depending upon space, which MacTech said is limited,” Morgenstern reports. “A press release from MacTech said that the accreditation program will span topics such as Office Web Apps, best practices in configuration, licensing options, cross platform features, sharing documents with SkyDrive and SharePoint as well as other troubleshooting and common questions.”

Morgenstern writes, “This program is yet another example of the Mac’s increasing entry into enterprise and business computing. Even Microsoft sees the necessity to support its Apple customers.”

MacDailyNews Take: What if you’re already an accredited paleontologist?

  1. It’s Microsoft’s accreditation programs that led to enterprise lock in. When you’ve paid a small fortune to get one, it’s difficult to ever approve an alternative and risk your job.

  2. Brilliant!

MS makes a software suite bloated and difficult to use, leverages it into the office standard using a de facto monopoly, and nows offers to “certify” IT droids as knowing how to use it. What a stellar business plan! I like our strategy! I like it a lot!

  3.
