Apple’s iPad (4th gen.), iPad mini certified for China’s cellular network; launch imminent

“The 3G version of Apple’s iPad Mini and iPad 4 just received an approval that would compatible with China Unicom and China Telecom 3G network, where China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center TENAA listed the device as model number A1455 and A1460 respectively,” Herman Lai reports for M.I.C. Gadget.

“Obtaining such a permit has always been an indication that a release date is imminent,” Lai reports. “The two cellular version[s of] iPad Mini and iPad 4 are likely to support all three China’s Telecom firms 3G network — China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA, China Unicom’s WCDMA and China Telecom’s CDMA 2000.”

Lai reports, “The Wi-Fi only versions iPad Mini and iPad 4 arrived in mainland China on December 7 and iPhone 5 landed on December 14.”

  1. So, 2012 will be known to the Android lovers as the year Apple’s iOS devices invaded China and crushed their droids! I hope you all are understanding why Apple had to dump Google for approval in China.
